To compare how big this is, it's only a few points higher than the earthquake that hit England in 2008...so...not big at all

Never heard of one of those before. Im taking it it means a prelude to a much bigger quake?

They have had 30+ earthquakes over 5.0 on the east coast this year no need for the dramatics.

Uh, no. The East coast doesn't get earthquakes, which is why this is such a big deal. The West coast gets them all the time.

The east coasters always laugh at us west coasters when we freak out over storms, does this mean we get to laugh at the east coasters for freaking out over such a small earthquake?

I used to live in Virginia where it happened, just moved to California a few weeks ago. Everyone on FB was going nuts.

It's extremely extremely extremely rare for an earthquake to happen on the east coast and it did, which is kind of scary.

Hey!! i'm from VA originally too and moved to Cali 10 years ago. Do you know where Oakton is? It's next to Vienna and Reston. That's where i grew up. :)

I moved to Cali literally only 2 weeks before 9/11. :( It felt so weird being on the other sidde of the country during 9/11, and everyone here really didn't seem to get it. My ex worked at the Pentagon.

The west coast is sooo different. But i love it. You're going to love it here.

I've never laughed at a west coaster for all the storms you get :hmph:
