It's not that difficult.
go to where yours would say "ponies" at the top of the screen near the word "tumblr" click it
go to customize on the right hand side and go to info, and that's were you write your about.
and to add a picture, your theme has to allow it, so if it does..
go to appearance, and then scroll down until it says something about uploading a picture or something.
