Last nights highlight show received the lowest rating of this years Celebrity Big Brother series so far.
Between 9:15pm and 10:15pm the highlights episode averaged 1.8m on Channel 5.
This is the first time the ratings have slipped below 2 million this year, the original lowest seen during last Sundays show (2.2m).
Compared to last Saturdays show, last nights episode was 0.9m down; a significant drop, however Channel 5 still managed to beat Channel 4 in the ratings war.
A bit scared.... I think regular BB if a good cast of bb5/bb7 people the ratings may rise :)

Will only continue to fall as they continue to ignore the 'regular' fans wishes :)

I agree, although aren't weekend ratings usually lower anyway?

It annoys me because I was more excited for this series than I have been since pre-BB8 back in 2007. Before CBB8 there was an atmosphere unheard of since four or five years ago - BB seemed - gasp - fresh. All they needed were a few decent celebrities, live feed, an experienced presenter and a mildly amusing script. Too much to ask? Apparently yes.
At least if BB12 sinks to a few K Brian's "presenting career" is dead. That's the only silver lining I can think of.

I think so yeah. but I really cant see the normal series doing very well at all if they continue to stick their heads in the sand about what the viewers actually want :/

It will drop like a stone. Bad glossy editing which takes away the genuine reality fly on the wall feeling when watching.
CH5 still not giving BB back to adult viewers. Instead we have nursery time BB mentality from the imbecilic twins.
Overall a bunch of boring contestants which are not being motivated by the BB tasks that are feeble and stale...
Most of all BB will fail if at least some degree of live feed is not re-introduced. They probably won't because the chosen housemates are to boring to watch
To be honest the magnificent Emma on the spin off show who can talk about a piece of string and sound amusing is a far better show than the CBB itself......She is BB gold. Great pity the main show does not give her more material to work with.

I think it will end up with ratings similar to TOWIE (which seems to be what they want the show to turn into). So around 1m ish

So they need at least 2 million viewers to "break even" I think - any less and BB is in the red, correct? People say it's cheap to make and takes up a lot of space but it can't be THAT cheap. The rights are well expensive.

Punshiments are needed
Yes it is made cheaper
but Ch5 getting a million viewers
is what they want.
Live Feed with 24/7 Hard Tasks
is fun.
Get Jedward out and get the sane people back watching. Whoever wears a Jedward hair hat to the BB audience needs a ****ing life!

i stopped watching on thursday because it was dull and they confirmed no live feed for main series either
i hope ratings keep dropping so they have second thoughts and bring back live feed for normal BB, otherwise i wont be watching that either :hmph:

When something is on every night of the week, you cannot take one days ratings as the norm. You have to take the average of all nights not just one.
As in all things some days will be quieter than others and vice versa.

Put Jedward out and far less people would be watching.
The other housemates have unfortunately become sleepy heads even through the day, there would be little to see other than the tasks.
They need LF and to stop picking stupid housemates

It's only a blip. It will be back up to 2.5 today or tomorrow. There's now nominations and a surprise eviction on Wednesday to look forward too.
