Hey everyone,

My Office Word has stopped working and to get it fixed I have to take it into PC World which is ages away from my home and to be quite honest I don't want some greasy old 'tech guy' fiddling around with it.

So does anyone know any good free programes like Microsoft Office Word? I mean good programes, not like that microsoft processor which is awful.

Anyone :)

Thanks

Open Office :

OpenOffice.org, commonly known as OOo or OpenOffice, is an open-source application suite whose main components are for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, and databases. OpenOffice is available for a number of different computer operating systems, is distributed as free software and is written using its own GUI toolkit. It supports the ISO/IEC standard OpenDocument Format (ODF) for data interchange as its default file format, as well as Microsoft Office formats among others. As of June 2011, OpenOffice.org supports over 120 languages. As free software, users are free to download, modify, use and distribute OpenOffice.org.

Hmmm any others? Open Office looks good but a bit, retro I suppose. That's why I don't like Processor- tacky.

The only other two I know of are:
Libre Office - http://www.libreoffice.org/
KOffice - http://www.koffice.org/

Personally, I suggest either downloading KOffice or Open Office

Thanks :)

Just downloaded Open Office, not great, I don't like the interface, reminds me of Processor to much. LibreOffice looks cool, gonna give that a go, thanks :)

In other words...you don't want to take the chance of him discovering your porn collection. We've all been there.

LibreOffice. It is the new version of OpenOffice that will continue to be developed independently.

It's most likely the best one available.

Since I didn't know that, I've just been reading about it :
