What you miss is Arnold Shapiro. Once he left and Grodner took over, she just rigged it for the most popular contestants to win. People like Maggie in BB6 and Boogie in BB7, who were both pretty much hated by the public, never would have won if Grodner was in charge.

Shelly's a goner sadly, she doesn't deserve to be leaving before Jordan and Adam, it makes me angry. She's made some good moves this season albeit being sneaky about them. I wish Grodner would get fired or just resign, she has to be the worst exec producer that there is.
