well I have as of yesterday. I know of quite a few others having got tired of it for various reasons. Mine mostly being the ****** twins overbearing presence.
but who else has stopped watching or is close to it?

well Im guessing not many Jedward fans will ditch it. Can't imagine why...
I'm still enjoying it, it hasnt been great the last few days although last nights ep was pretty good

Sill following it. But if it ended up with Jedward Kerry, Lucian, Bobby and Amy I'd def be switching off :bored:
I stopped let me think ... Saturday I think. Don't miss it at all. I just can't be arsed flicking it on even when I'm watching telly anyway. I thought I'd miss having ammo to tear it apart but it's quite relaxing and serene not having to concern myself anymore of how bad it is.
Even if it got good again the production and change of channel and everything ... I don't know. I just feel past it. It's one of those shows I've simply stopped watching.

I've missed it a few times, and I only caught the last twenty minutes on Sunday. That would never have happened in previous years, I've always recorded it or watched a repeat. I've tried to love it this year, but it's dire... It seems so infantile this year, and yet it's on at ten pm.

same here. If I wasnt on TiBB I would have forgotten it was even on. Watching last few days was an effort I could barely even make I was so unexcited by it.
still hopeful the normal series may be watchable. At least we won't start off with hateful HMs.

This is the first series I haven't stopped watching since CBB6.
I think I will eventually give up on it if it carries on focussing on Jedward, but at the minute Bobby, Paddy and Darry are keeping it interesting.

I'm the same. I watched the launch, the first live show and got half way through the first highlights show before switching off. I don't miss it either. I felt a little bit of loyalty to it when it was on Channel 4 so watched out of habit but now its completely different I don't really care for it. I thought it would be harder to switch off but once you miss a show or two you forget all about it. I don't see it in the media and noones talking about it, the only time I remember its still on is when I come on here.
There are plenty of other things to watch and other things to do. I'll probably watch the BB12 launch to see what kind of people go in but I doubt it will hold my interest past the launch show

Watched the launch, saw the deadful cast and decided not to bother even attempting edited HLs ..... it seems that my choice was well-founded, given the apparent kiddie-slant of the "show" ..... BB seems to have become unbelievably imbecilic ..... :o

watched launch and 2 episodes after it,then eviction on friday but nothing else, not even oktv or bbbots.have watched since BB1 and have no interst in this one.
The music, editing and simple lack of content or anything of great interest to talk about hasleft me flat.
of course the missing live feed is an issue but the overall show has lost the buzz it once had.Time will tell with BB12 but i dont hold much hope for it.

I'm actually getting close. I dislike how biased the editing/tasks are.
But I never really liked the celeb versions in the first place. The only one I actually liked was the one where alex reid won. The rest I have always turned off halfway through.
Am also not watching BBOTS because thats biased, and unfunny.

I have to say, although I haven't missed an episode I have found it really really hard watching jedward - they are just too much! I've found myself sky+ ing it & zooming through stuff with them being stupid in. I was hoping Paddy would bare knuckle them after the cinema thingy
It will be a massive sigh of relief when (or if) they eventually get evicted. God forbid if they win :(

No, I don't even watch ch4. Laughable you actually believe people have some allegiance to a bloody TV channel! Nor do I care about change. Indeed, Ive said it needed more change to gain a new audience.
So yeah, just accept that some think its crap. You are probably its target audience.
I'm still watching but I'm not as interested as I normally would be, Jedward are ruining it imo, I hated the first couple of episodes because of the editing, name tags etc but I hardly even notice all that now.

I stopped watching about a week ago now.
I just don't like what Channel 5 have done with the show. It just doesn't feel like Big Brother. It it wasn't for TIBB being in my bookmarks I wouldn't even know Big Brother still exists. My interest is lost.
When the main show comes up I'll give it another go but as far as CBB goes, I couldn't care less with what happens on the show.

I used to be/am still addicted to the old big brother. I have the whole back catalogue and love it so much. This year I have no addiction/emotional connection to the show what so ever. It's so bad I don't even care about missing an episode and I don't have the will power to get through 2 episodes in a day where as I could spend a whole day watching the old BB and just need to see the next episode. It's truly saddening that I no longer care about BB on channel 5 but it's lost everything that I watched the show for. I missed an episode yesterday and I couldn't give a **** to be honest but I got angry when I was missing an episode from my downloaded cbb6. It's not even about channel 4 but it's how it's lost every single layer of truth or any intellectual dimension and everything that got me in love with it in the first place.
However I am watching out of habit and for something to talk about on here, if I weren't on tibb I would have given up on the second episode. I will probably continue to watch until Sunday which is when I start school and I'm just not going to have the time/the will to watch. If the series i just highlighghts I'd much rather watch my back catalogue of bbon my hard drive anyway as they are so much better. I may give it another chance next summer hoping they change something drastically. The fact anyone likes the show baffles me a little though because everything I loved about BB (which is what I thought everyone loved about BB) is no longer. It's definitely not something I would follow religiously anymore, just another poorly produced crappy entertainment and "reality" show.

Tibb is only a BB forum for 3 months a year.
I don't actually care about the changes myself, most of them are so miniscule and ultimately pointless that I struggle to understand why anyone would be upset by them. It's Jedward that's the problem, everything they do is rehearsed and it's all about playing up to this character they've created. It would be a much better series without them.

That's the biggest load of BS I've read on here in ages, and that's saying something.
If you want to live in the past watching old and long forgotten series of BB then that's your choice, but as far as I'm concerned C5 have made a really good effort into preserving the Big Brother that we have come to know and love.
So what is do different about this series to any other CBB that you have seen previously on C4? It's the same house, the same theme music, the same Diary Room even the same voice over guy Marcus Bentley. The only thing that's different is the housemates, and when did C4 have such a great track record of picking good ones? Every single year they would dig out a load of has beens or wannabees, and every single year they would get criticized over it.
Ok it might not be a 'classic' series but those only come along on very rare occasions. This is C5's first effort, and considering the very short space of time they had to prepare for it, I can find very little to criticize about them.
Even 'Bit On The Side' is way better than 'Big Mouth' used to be with gutter mouth McCall saying the 'f' word at every available opportunity just because she thought it was funny when in fact it came across as exactly the opposite.
Stop living in the past and give this series a chance ffs, if it wasn't for C5 there would be no BB anyway. Even the 'Eviction Shows' are 'live' instead of being recorded like C4 used to do, simply because they were running scared that someone would come out with an unacceptable comment. C5 do not have such hang ups and that can only be for the good of the show.
I rest my case!!!

I go through phases of liking/disliking jedward, but even in one of my liking stages...I would 100% agree with this. For me, they are ruining the show, and basically turning it into something that wouldnt be amiss on CBeebies. I know its not entirely their fault, as I said earlier its the editing/tasks being centered around them too, which they cant help. I knew this would happen as soon as I knew they were going in though.

i think the changes to the show are positive, its just lacking the va va voom, i cant pin point but somthings missing, probally the LF tbh. Because I watched it for awhile, realized I didn't like it, and then stopped watching it. I explained why I stopped watching it. It's not as if I gave a blow by blow analysis of what Amy Childs did on the show I didn't watch last night.
Is this really giving you difficulty? Your initial point is stupid. I don't talk about Big Brother anymore because I don't watch it. This consumer stance doesn't somehow get contradicted by explaining why I don't watch it anymore. This forum has about a dozen other subforums for various interests that I enjoy posting in.
Just read that over as many times as you feel you need to until you get it.

Jedward's antics are ultimately causing tension and entertainment within the house... yepp it can be very silly sometimes but people always complain they want controversial HMs. Its only because Jedward are known beforehand and are generally been branded very irritating... if it was a normal series of BB and they were originally unknown most of you would be lapping them up for 'entertainment value'.
My opinion on it.

:dance2:
Your case may have been rest but it changes nothing. This was all my opinion so cant be 'BS' as it was from my point of view. I know all that stuff is the same and I really wanted to love this BB but it has lost something. A vibe and atmosphere of the show has been lost somewhere. I don't know exactly what caused this but I'm sure others would agree too that something that made the show addictive has gone and now its just plain unintelligent viewing. However it's not the same VoiceOver. It's the same man but he is now just a parody of what he once was. Plus saying give channel 5 is ridiculous as that is exactly what I've done. If I wasn't going to give them a chance I would have turned of halfway through launch night. The fact is that it's not the show I used to love and that's it. It is only similar by name and the name big brother has been abused by 5 anyway.
Thank God for one sensible post
It's the stupidest post I've read here in awhile. Paddy usually delivers the goods on that front. It's absurd to suggest that only Channel 4 arselickers don't like the show. The first Saturday show I turned off in disgust, but once I got used to it and the editing/Marcus calmed down I have enjoyed it since. Now when Jedward are on I want to throw my TV out the window, but the fact other housemates go off on them keeps me watching. I am just hoping for the day when Paddy or Darryn finally snap on them.

Indeed I don't even see many mentioning LF.
I'm surprised how many people have stopped actually, as far as CBB series go it really isn't bad at all, there's a good mix of housemates in there and there's been some great moments. Yeah the show focuses a lot on Jedward but there's always a housemate or two that gets more air time than the others so it's not really anything new and the editing, while not strictly necessary, is so easy to overlook, I don't really see the problem with the odd flashback or bit of music personally.
To say channel 5 have ruined BB or that it's a completely different show isn't really true, there'll always be good series and bad series, good housemates and bad housemates, and this one is actually decent imo and it's doing a lot better than I expected

isnt it funny how all of this anger and angst towards channel 5 has stemmed from them not supplying live feed, would people be moaning and complainging about the show like this if live feed was still around i wonder
Well yes fewer would complain because there would be other options to avoid the terrible editing. Choices make everything better.
you've obviously missed the other big factor mentioned on this thread...Jedward.
Indeed I don't even see many mentioning LF.
No, they're not ..... the odious twosome are the source of most discontent ..... :yuk:
I'm suddenly realising that I just don't care about the show at all anymore really. MTVN's right and it's probably not a bad series it's just ... I don't know ... I'm sitting here watching Only Fools reruns on GOLD and I literally couldn't care less who gets evicted. Not one part of me feels like turning over to Channel 5. I'd rather watch repeats of scripted sitcoms. They're better.

are you not gonna watch the main show either?
Im hoping it will be somewhat better than CBB. A lot comes down to the cast at the end of the day.
I'll start watching it and if I lose interest then I lose interest I guess. If it's edited like CBB and has no Live Feed I don't have much hope though. I used to be a massive fan of the totalitarian, avant garde sort of aesthetic and production of Big Brother. Without that and the whole feel that it's a massive event the public and press is following live bit by bit it's just become another reality show. And I'd rather watch one less time consuming where stuff happens all the time outside the confines of a more or less same formula I've been watching for five or six years.
Plus those other shows go the full hog. Big Brother just seems stuck in this bizarre production limbo. Every time music gets played it's like someone's just turned up the radio next to me. It doesn't feel right at all.
I dunno. I'm tired of it all. It wont be what it once was and I can't embrace the new changes so I took everyones advice and switched off.

Don't know why anyone would stop watching all together on this series, its delivered almost everynight. It's starting to annoy me now members who aren't even watching lingering about in the BB section slagging it off at whatever chance they get.
The editing and music used to piss me off just as much as others but now it's becomes barely noticeable. Anyone switching off over it is either being melodramatic or haven't given it enough chance to get used to it. That or they've just outgrown the show as a whole imo.

Not me, I love BB, I believe it is still a great idea, there are people in there I am not keen on and I am sure there will be people I totally dislike in the main BB.
I will always watch it and support it though, switching over from it would never be an option for me.
I wish there was more footage but there's not so one hour a day plus spin offs is hardly tiresome to watch.
I have watched some real awful people in previous BBs and always stuck with the show.
It has been really good in my opinion and the editing has been much fairer than in the last 2 series of BB, I like Brian too.
No.I will never stop watching it, there are such a diverse set of celebrities in it and there will be another diverse mix in the main BB too. With the change to vote to save too I am really happy we have BB back,I will be happy knowing that because it is watched on Channel 5 that Channel 4 are getting a good thumbs down for dropping it too.
Channel 4 are the ones who took it away from its heady days of BB5 to BB8,they let it slip badly from then on.This is much better than the last 2 series and if they eventually make live feed available to those who want it then it will be near perfect.
Don't know why anyone would stop watching all together on this series, its delivered almost everynight. It's starting to annoy me now members who aren't even watching lingering about in the BB section slagging it off at whatever chance they get.

We come to this forum regardless of Big brother so its not like we specifically come here just to talk about how we dont watch CBB anymore.
And the demise of the show and it's perceived faults is very much a topic in itself. As is the issue of fans abandoning it. Which is pretty much what this thread is about.
Not every thread here is about what just happened in the BB house. Most are more general so even those who've deserted it can still have something to say. Indeed, people were posting in this section way before the show even aired.
So piss off with your "you shouldnt be here if you don't watch" BS. We are TiBB members and can post where we damn like.

but I still find plenty to yap about here oddly enough. Maybe because I still have opinions about the HMs. Maybe I pass the odd comment based on what I read here about whats happening. Point is, I absolutely do not actually watch the show. Well, besides a couple of short YT clips posted here.

another thing I find is that the flaw with CBB is as people know them before they go in (well, questionable), that means they'll stick with that person no matter what, cause they love em. BB you start of on a clean slate and aren't afraid to drop someone if they start to piss you off. Quite a bit of stubborness (sp.) on here during CBB

Shucks. Thanks
Though in all fairness to the thread - I've watched various nights here and there but haven't broke my neck to catch all the shows and half the time, it's been on in the background.
It's not exactly rivetting stuff - and I can fully understand why people are losing interest / switching off. It's just not the same anymore: we all know too much about how it all works, as do those on the show as well.
The surprise element just isn't there anymore: and without live feed: it's not the same at all.
Long gone are the days of the original shows. More's the pity.
Well within a week would generally be considered to mean less than a week, either way it's incredibly pedantic to make a point of it
Well within a week would generally be considered to mean less than a week, either way it's incredibly pedantic to make a point of it
And if being pedantic is your game 'this past week' - the exact phrase I used - could just as easily mean this week alone. From Monday until now.
I've said before I stopped watching on Saturday anyway. In fact I said it in the first post I made in this thread. So none of this is news to anyone. Just a half arse, 'playful' attempt to catch me out.
But yeah. Life goes on etc. Rock on.

but as we all know MTVN, Tibbs is full of pedants, and I'm certainly not alone in being so when it suits - as you are displaying yourself both in this and your last post.
I'll use the same well worn phrase that people use to me on here: people need to lighten up..... and spot when there is a bit of lighthearted playfulness in action.
it could be worse: I could go around calling people all sorts of names, throwing insults all over the place, ...... maybe I should try that from now on, seeing as it's the fashionable thing to be doing from what I'm read on this thread the last few pages - that seems the fun thing to be getting into! :joker:

I stopped watching it completely a few days back, I've no interest anymore and I can't stomach Jedward. The series would have been watchable without them.

I haven't watched it since about 12 days ago. Thank god it ends tomorrow. I will give the non-celeb version a chance but if it's crap i'm just giving up.
I think people are realizing why C4 stopped BB in the first place.

I just wish they hadn't bothered with a CBB. Especially since they obviously couldnt get big names.

amen and hallelujah
you endured it longer than me
Jedward seem to be the main reason people have stopped watching, so what's all this "they have it in the bag" talk?
Do you all think they're going to win?! Please tell me its not true! :bored:

you should remember who else has won CBB in the past. Is Ulrika really well liked or popular? No!
Not watching tonight either. Literally have zero interest which surprised me. I thought I might come around for the final. Days are too short these days. Got better things to do.
I might check out tommorow night though and the night after just to see how the production is.
Even if it's a good series I probably won't be watching with crap childish production and no live feed.

I had no desire to watch and actually had celeb juice. But when I saw somebody posted a thread saying they were out I had to cave in and have a peek. Thankfully their interview was nearly over. Ironically, their bit on celeb juice was on at the same time so for one horrible minute I couldnt escape them!
but yeah, I have sinned.
Hopefully I won't need another thread like this for BB12.

If you are a Big Brother Live feed fan, then surely Big Brother (the normal one) will be even worse? No live feed and none of them are "famous".

On the basis of what we know about the HMs for BB12 (and Pamela *****ng Anderson!) I may well be starting one! Lol! ;)

where have I said Im a LF fan? Ive said many times I don't care about LF. Although it would be nice to have the option..especially late night. Thats the only time I ever watch LF anyways.
and I don't want them to be famous. Thats why Im looking forward to it. Clean slate.

Sorry. So what put you off then? Jedward? Editing? Production? After a while, you really do get used to it and hardly notice it.

well with Jedward lots did turn off. I personally know of many. They spoiled this series in so many ways and gave it a shallow, childish and empty feel that it never recovered from. Great for kids, yeah.
