Cynical me is wondering apart from genuinelty getting on well with Darryn if another reason they're getting really pally with him is so he can use his media contacts to get them more work after the show?;)

C5 and Desmond will no doubt have plans for them both too!

More likely they are terrified he will turn the media on them to get revenge if they piss him off. ;)
