5 (I'm being generous because it's C5's first series). It started off promising but it just ended up being the same as Channel 4's. Without Live Feed it was always going to suffer.

If this was posted in a couple of days time, half the people that will give it a 0 and a 1 would be giving it much higher.

A 7.5 for me. With live feed it probably would have been a 9.5

7. It's been alright, it's just the lack of proper celebrities and live feed that's really let it down.

So far, 8. I've actually really enjoyed it.

The tasks are awesome but the editing needs to be toned down, especially for BB12.

It would have been a 8.5/10 - and then everyone who i wanted to stay has gone. (well i couldn't care about Pamela actually, but i despise Darryn). Also the fact that i dont know who i like it is probably a 6/10

I have loved the series from day one, I gave a 9 because I wish for the people who want it that some sort of live feed had been done.

Shaun
02-09-2011, 09:25 PM
- No live feed
- Pretty dire housemates (Amy, Jedward, Pamela, Bobby, Lucien)
- Interference from the outside world
- Musical montages
- Garish designs and effects
- Fauxmances
- Very few big stories (I can name the sweat thing off the top of my head)
- Very irritating to watch (unless you're a Jedward fan)
- Quite blatantly contrived
- Poor eviction results
- Brian is a terrible presenter, and not at all funny or interesting.
- Rushed interviews

all with an enduring tedium of the show (for me) and the format anyway. Should've just left it dead with C4.

(and before you say I'm a sourpuss - I did enjoy the house design, titles and stage design )

I don't get what you people mean by proper celebrities?

This isn't America.

Who the heck were you all expecting? Lady Gaga? Madonna? Charlie Sheen? Will Smith?

I think people can't accept that John and Edward ARE infact big celebrities in this country, as is Kerry Katona and Amy Childs has been all over the tabloids for over a year now aswell.

Tara Reid, is a really big name aswell.
Lucien Laviscount is a really current actor and just because alot of oldies don't know him because they didn't watch Waterloo Road doesn't mean he's not a celebrity.

Honestly the only people in there who probably shouldn't really be are Paddy and Bobby.

In terms of names, this series has pulled out all the stops - I think it's awesome how they've got CURRENT celebrities like Kerry, Lucien, Amy and Jedward and not washed up Hollywood Americans in their 50s that no one knows.

5. Started out well but has really slowed down in recent days, I also don't get the feeling that there's any real long term story in the series to keep me engaged, Jedward's overexposure has also been annoying and needless.

He's not a celebrity. He's not even known. End of story. Close the book. Call the kids and tell them it's time for bed.

Worst series ever. Couldn't even hold my attention past the first weekend. No Davina and Brian is rubbish, no live feed, rubbish line up, hate the highlights.

bring back BB8!!

its a shadow of what it used to be. At least in the later years after they ditched the psychology shows there was still realism and a gameshow element. Now theres just nothing, its just feels all wrong and false

I'm not a kid.

You're acting as if I've only watched this series? I've watched Big Brother for years and witnessed the glory days just as the rest of you did.

I'm not saying it's the greatest series ever.

BB5 - BB7 piss all over it, but it's not as bad as you're all making out.

If you put this series up against the likes of BB11 and BB8, I mean really.. you'll say how good it is.

Patrick, it's nowhere near BB10 and you know it.

The only good thing about BB10 was Marcus.

This year's tasks aren't that good but they're better than BB10s, the house is better than BB10s and yeah Big Brother 10 might of had more interesting storylines than Kerry and Lucien's dull 'romance' but that's because it was on for 13 Weeks and wasn't rushed.

One thing this series has in common with BB10 is no Live Feed, but even without Live Feed this series is more interesting, BB10 got hard to watch towards the end.

Patrick
02-09-2011, 09:51 PM
Also - I for one HATE the outside contact tasks such as John James and JJ's Horse thing and BB10's Alien Task.

But I found Jedward running around a supermarket at 1AM far more hilarious and entertaining than watching miserable Lisa sit on a bus while David Ramsden randomly shouted Nanu Nanu at bypassers.

Are you actually having a laugh? Kerry Katona, CURRENT? Jedward and Amy are famous because of reality shows. Channel 4 would never have had them on their series.

Compare this years line up to last years line up. A world of difference, last years was a lot more diverse, even the year before with Ulrika and Verne. this years line up is just the dregs that would be making up the numbers in past years. and to think they're doing another "celebrity" BB in 4 months time :joker:

You drew a BB eye on your hand in felt tip and are claiming to not be a kid. Something doesn't add up there?

This series is immature, set up and has no relevance to the Big Brother name. BB11 and BB8 were not the best series' I agree but they in my opinion **** all over this. It's fine for you to like this CBB but to say that its is a great series full stop is ridiculous. It is not Big Brother in my opinion and it is just trashy reality for the sake of reality tv now with no direction or purpose. And for me it is as bad as I make out as everything is an opinion.

Stop pretending this series is better than BB10. Give it a week or two after the final when the fanboy hysteria has died down and you'll rate BB10 above it again I guarantee.

Honestly I'd rather BB8 to this. At least it was still Big Brother. In fact it's starting to look pretty bright right now. I could still throw on live feed and listen to them having a chat in the caravan and follow it as a proper, traditional Big Brother.

Patrick

You're missing my point Tom.

We live in the UK - most of our celebrities are famous because of Reality Shows, hence Jedward and Amy Childs.

And what was the FIRST thing that made ordinary people become famous?

Big Brother.

So Jedward and Amy are celebrities, they might not be for long - especially not Amy, but at this moment they are and that's what gets ratings.

This year's launch was alot more talked about than last year.

No one sat up last year on Twitter and Facebook going on about how fantastic and amazing it was that Katia Ivanova, Stephanie Beacham, Ivana Trump or Heidi Fleiss were entering the house.

Where as this year - everyone was talking about it and the hype was fantastic.

I never rated BB10 as a good series, compared to BB11/BB8 - it was amazing but compared to any other series? It sucked balls and that was down to the production team, not the housemates.

You are taking trivial things like Twitter and your own mates too seriously and as usual using it as a barometer to gauge the nation as a whole. You keep saying it's more talked about but the bottom line is last years celebrity series had more viewers. A lot more.

Last years series was talked about a lot more. You keep insinuating probably through wishful thinking that once again Big Brother is some sort of nationwide phenomena talked up and down the country but really ... it's not.

they really dont

Opportunity Knocks in the 70s might have something to say about that

So Jedward and Amy are celebrities, they might not be for long - especially not Amy, but at this moment they are and that's what gets ratings.

The ratings are crap. It started level with last years BB and now its fallen below BB10.

This year's launch was alot more talked about than last year.

That depends on who you speak to

No one sat up last year on Twitter and Facebook going on about how fantastic and amazing it was that Katia Ivanova, Stephanie Beacham, Ivana Trump or Heidi Fleiss were entering the house.

Meanwhile last CBB was the most watched series since BB8 in 2007. Stephanie Beacham was a big name a few years ago, Ivana is well known too. Heidi was controversial, and Katia was just making up the numbers. Katia in this year would probably be the headlining celebrity. Its fine that they go for people who get tabloid interest, but beyond day 2 what does that matter? They need a good mix of people to keep things interesting, people with interesting backgrounds and good life stories to tell. This lot are one dimensional and because most have been on reality shows or lived their lives through the papers theres nothing new to learn about them

Where as this year - everyone was talking about it and the hype was fantastic.

No they weren't

Theres a big line between popular/well known and celebrities. 2 of those come from reality shows, the other won a celeb based reality show in 2004 because she was already past it back then

You say you don't know who Sally is, maybe you should read other parts of that newspaper you told me to pick up and you might learn something. And just to continue to keep in touch with popular culture you might want to watch Big Fat Gypsy Weddings

Mr. Paparazzi is known to a limited audience of the type of people who guzzle shows like Big Brother. Not a celebrity. And Lucien has about as much right to the tag 'celebrity' as the guy who sprung the trapdoor from out under Saddam Hussein.

Chantelle became a bigger celebrity than the both of them combined the night she went into Big Brother. That was the power of the format back then.

I agree that big, huge celebrities don't guarantee them a great housemate. We've had two Jackson's and they were both pretty bland. But just because Lucien is an actor does not make him a celebrated personality. A few episodes of Waterloo Road doesn't make him famous.
