Anyone watched this?

I've watched Series 6, 7, 1 and am now exactly half way through 5. :D A big reason as to why I started watching is because of the ****ing AMAZING host Gretel Killeen. <3

I;ve only watched 5, 6, 7, 8. Imo season 8 is the weakest of those.

i think 6 is the best of the one's i've seen. I loved Perry lol. And i really liked David as a housemate, although i wanted to smack him most of the time. Camilla was also a really great housemate.

In season 7 i really loved the final 2. Zach and Allysea were just really fun nice people.

Hopefully Channel 9 let it go back to what the show was season 1-6 pre ''Turkey Slap''.

After that inncident we got two seasons of a ''G'' rated kids show, no uncut footage, barely any alcohol and a show that seemed to revolve around ''Friday night games''.

IMO seasons 1,2,4 and especially 5 were the best, don't even bother with season 7 or 8.

Lol they never actually explained what happened in that video.

Basically those two guys were playing around on Camilla's bed one night wrestling and such when they decided to play a joke on her by "turkey slapping" her, which involved one of the guys "slapping" her in the face with his dick while the other held her down.

Some articles mention about the return that it won't be as "big" as before. To me I'm thinking will everything be less exciting, like evictions and stuff? Does that mean crowds will be smaller etc and it'll loose the partyish buzzing feeling? :(

No, that's not what happened. She specifically told them NOT to do it, and then they held her down with force while she was struggling to get away, and did it anyway. She said very specifically not to do it, and when she resisted they forced it on her. And although she doesn't hate them, she did say that what they did to her was WRONG. Then when they got thrown out of the house, some of the other housemates blamed HER. It was a fooked up situation.

She was like you're not gonna turkey slap me are you, but continued to lie down and was laughing throughout. I saw it and it was all a joke. She even said in the diary room the next day when she said enough's enough they stopped.

How was what I wrote wrong? Everything I said was factual and I didn't even make any mention as to whether Camilla gave them permission or not.

But while I'm here I will say those two guys were tossers and were no loss to the show but I do think Camilla took it and ran with it a far as she could and almost won the series because of it.

what i think is that there will be no Friday Night Live but if the reboot does well I wouldn't be surprised if it returns

If they can't get Gretel Kileen get the annoucer Mike Goldberg to host the show he hosted Friday Night Live with two other people and he did the narration. He also subbed for Kyle in the last season twice when Kyle called in sick and everyone was happy to see him host the show. I don't think he doesn't want to let go of the show. I think everyone loved him as well

_Seth

I wouldn't mind Mike Goldman, I met him once and he was nice. Fitzy (Ryan from Season 4) would be hilarious as a host. Australian TV has a massive problem with picking dickheads as hosts. So I wouldn't be surprised if the biggest dickhead in history Kyle Sandilands is the host again, although I think he is contracted to Channel 7 atm.

Ugh. Why all the love for Gretel? I LOATHE her. I cannot stand her smarmy attitude. She is horrible at thinking up things on the spot. The way she handled the Michael situation was beyond terrible. She also sucked when that one guy refused to talk. She singlehandedly ruined one of the potential coolest moments of the entire show. She was a crap interviewer, a crap presenter, and just crap in general. The best thing they did was to get rid of her. Hopefully she never has anything to do with the new series or anything else that ever makes it's way to my TV.

But like everyone else I think I'm going to have to hope for Goldman!

Just read via Wikip: (looking for launch date)
The 2012 series will introduce Sonia Kruger as the new host of Big Brother, as confirmed via the official Facebook page.[2]

:(

It is expected that the show will air in 2012, after the network's coverage of the Olympics.

:(

Since the show's revival, it has been revealed that all housemates will have a secret.[1][3][5] The series is also set to be scaled back with a tighter budget.[6] In terms of gameplay, the title suggests that it may take elements out of the French version of Big Brother, Secret Story.[1] This style of format would see housemates, much like past seasons, living communally with one another, while simultaneously seeking to discover "secrets" about their fellow housemates.

YAWN!

As much as i'm moderately excited to see BB back on our screens, i'm pretty pessimistic about what Channel Nine will do with it. Most everything i've seen Nine do (Reality based) has been commercial drivel. It's a shame SBS never picked it up, i think it was rumoured they had some interest a few years back, that definitely would've sparked my interest and curiosity. I'm really hoping this Season will be half decent, but expecting the worst!

http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2012/06/big-brother-up-late-coming-to-go.html

An “up late” off-shoot of Big Brother will air on GO! when the Reality juggernaut launches on Nine after the Olympics.

Nine is promising a “family friendly” edition at 7pm, but it remains to be seen how racy a late-night edition will be on its digital channel.

The Up Late series previously hosted by Mike Goldman on TEN was very popular with fans, and included content that couldn’t be screened earlier in the night, including nudity.

Having a late night edition on its digital channel will add to Nine’s overnight network shares, rather than seeing numbers on GO! taper off.

The announcement was made this morning by Nine Entertainment Co.’s group sales and marketing director Peter Wiltshire before key media buyers.

 A step in the right direction! I hope it's more of an Uncut/Adult's Only show rather than UpLate, or maybe a hybrid of the two. Either way I hope Mike will host it.

The central plank of Nine's post Olympics strategy will be Big Brother, the franchise you either love or loathe.

Despite criticisms that the franchise is tired, difficult to reinvent and a bad fit for the network, a document doing the rounds for media buyers puts Nine's forecasts at one million viewers for the 7pm week nights slot, 1.15 million for Sunday night evictions and 1.3 million for its finale.

These figures obviously aren't in the same ballpark as The Voice (which is starting its second series) or even Big Brother when it was still with Ten, but are not to be scoffed at either.

The document indicates just how Nine will attempt to reinvent the format. This includes making it more family friendly (no turkey slapping then), a wider mix of contestants and a pumped-up level of social media interaction. Sonia Kruger will host and most interestingly of all, viewers will vote to save housemates rather then evict them.

How audiences take to it will be watched very closely by all the networks.

A definite step in the right direction. I have high hopes for this season; it seems like Nine is doing everything right.

I don't think live feed is confirmed yet. I know they said that there will be free online content, but that could just be video updates. I haven't heard anything about BOTS or Adults Only, but they've said that there will be some form of an adults show on GO after the Daily Show, but that could take the form of Adults Only, UpLate, or just a non-family-friendly version of the Daily Show.

That was copied from here (http://australia.bigbrother247.co.uk/pre-bb-nine-announce-new-show-line-up-for-big-brother/) which is speculation and hasn't been confirmed.
