Obviously I mean terrorism based.

I don't think anything major will happen, intelligence will catch anyone before it happens
But saying that theres really nothing stopping someone driving into a city centre with car bomb

I hope not, and judging by the security they seem to have in place, if something does happen it won't be for their lack of vigilence.
Oh that would be awful.
But I guess the security would be extremely tight tomorrow
Well with it being 10 years and with Bin Laden now dead Al Qaeda will really want to do something to show the US that they are very much still a force to be feared, whether they'll succeed or not I dunno, I'd say they probably wont but I'm sure they'll try

I think there will be hoax calls, and some regular muslims will get arrested.

She means non terrorist ones. As some people still like to generalise "muslims" as all evil.

Well that's what I thought. But being a poignant date and time I wondered if people feared anything would happen then

I think people will try, but they won't succeed

I hope not. I'm sure airport security over New York will be absolutely astonishingly tight tomorrow.

I knowwhat she means. But with Claudias quirky SOH it seems funny when she says regular muslims. Maybe its just me..

oh yeah its a very valid question that everybody is tense about. But it just seems dumb to me to carry out an attack when everybodies expecting it and the authorities are prepared for it.
Fingers crossed.

Agree with your assessment Zippy, its also a ploy by the government to make public announcements about possible terrorist attacks coming from a "credible source with unconfirmed" information.
This will have two major effects:
It lets any terrorist cells operating know the US Intelligence and Security Services are on to them and may specifically be targetting them.
The public at large will also be on the lookout more for suspicious activities etc.
Increased vigilance is often enough to deter even the most fanatic of terrorists.
It also allows the security services to impose any sort of measures without too much protests.

Surely is Al Qaeda have any sense at all, they will do it when its unexpected rather than on the day when security is likely to be the tightest its been in years? Just seems daft.
Has more impact when its unexpected too.

The next major attack will happen when we let our guard down. When we stop caring, when we start thinking we are safe again, when we think we were just paranoid all this time and then stop the extra security, that's when the next huge attack will happen.
I think there will be smaller attacks in the mean time though no matter how dilligent we are, but i think the extra security will prevent MAJOR attacks like 9/11.
This doesnt seem to have made major news but there was a bomb at a US base in Afghanistan last night that wounded 77 soldiers http://m.independent.co.uk/;article=5/news/

Well a bomb at a US base is part of an actual WAR. To be fair, even the attack on the Pentagon could be justified as a legitimate military target for the terrorists.
But we're talking about a major attack targeting innocent civilians like the WTC.

Well we were talking about whether "anything" would happen in light of it being the ten year anniversary, that's pretty broad and could apply here if the bombing was intended to be carried out because of the date
