300 stars Gerard Butler and Lena Headey have both been confirmed to appear in 300 : Battle of Artemisia, a sequel to the 2006 action fantasy film.
Produced by Bernie Goldman, the film will see the actors play supporting roles in the film, respectively reprising their roles as King Leonidas and Queen Gorgo.
The producer told Fandango: "It's a different story but there is a small part for Lena Headey. There's a small part for Gerry Butler."
So far it has not been confirmed who will be leading the cast in 300: Battle of Artemisia but the producer explained he planning on using unknown actors as leads to make the film as authentic as possible.
"When you make a period movie like that, it's great not to know the actors," Goldmann continued. "For me, as an audience, it always brings me into the movie more.
"You can't see Tom Cruise in a historial movie. You go, 'That's Tom Cruise!'"
It has been reported that the sequel to 300, which was originally intitled Xerses, is set to be directed by Noam Murro who will be using a script written by Zack Snyder (Superman: Man of Steel) and Kurt Johnstad.

It's ultimately a style over substance film that hasn't aged well and has been mocked relentlessly. They waited too long for a sequel and this one will inevitably bomb.

Is this going to be a prequel or are they going to magically resurrect king Leonidas, or even have his role limited to someone else's memories?
I don't think it is a good idea, especially for Butler.
The original was a right awful piece of garbage. It's one of those generic films people who don't watch much cinema put in their top ten lists along with, say, Scream and The Hangover.
