The first night of the fall TV season was overshadowed, overpowered and otherwise overwhelmed by the start of the Ashton Kutcher era on Two and a Half Men.

Here's a rundown of Monday's key ratings hits—and misses:

RIDICULOUSLY HUGE

• Two and a Half Men (27.8 million viewers): Is the sitcom going to outdraw the Emmys, the Grammys and some American Idol finales every week? Uh, probably not. But a win's a win—as a certain professed winner and former star of the series himself would have to agree.

Yeah in the US. The episode aired here at 9pm tonight on Comedy Central so will probably only get a few hundred thousand

So what is like Ashton going to be called 'Charlie' are they acting like he's just replacing the role or is it a full on new character?

In which case - what the hell did they say happened to Charlie's character?

Nearly spot on, it lost 8 million, nearly a third of viewers

I didn't get it at first but watched a few episodes and ended up loving it.

And yeah I kinda hope it does, or even goes lower than that, just to piss of the producer.

CBS comedy is terrible. There's not one funny show made by the network.

The latest episode of the sitcom starring Ashton Kutcher, dropped 3 million viewers for CBS at 9pm, but still won the night with 17.28m (6.1).

It sickens me that it gets twice the viewers of a lot of great shows on CBS like Amazing Race, Big Brother, and Survivor (pre S22). It really is one of the worst shows on TV.
