It's sad that football doesn't have a fourth official or just plain common sense when it comes down to these kinda decisions. I mean they replayed the goal on the big screen in the fecking stadium. Madness.

I can't understand why not on huge decisions like that. Think managers and teams should be allowed one or two challenges per match, like they do in tennis. It's just common sense really.... too much at risk in big matches like this.

Ah Ben it's the playoff for the World Cup and it's in France. They created absolutely nothing whereas Ireland had all the chances and out battled them in every department. It's not all about possession. They were shocking and literally had no idea how to break us down.

You've got to hold and give
But do it at the right time
You can be slow or fast
But you must get to the line
They'll always hit you and hurt you
Defend and attack
Theres only one way to beat them
Get round the back
Catch me if you can
Cos' I'm the England man
And what you're looking at
Is the master plan
We ain't no hooligans
This ain't a football song
Three lions on my chest
I know we can't go wrong

From comedians to politicians to musical performers to professional athletes, Monday Night Raw’s weekly guest hosts are some of past and present’s finest entertainers. The WWE Universe, therefore, can expect this trend to continue as more and more of the most popular celebrities are hopping aboard to serve as Raw special host.

Nov. 23, 2009: Jesse Ventura
This week, WWE Hall of Famer Jesse Ventura will take the reins from Hershey, Pa., on a special Thanksgiving three-hour presentation of Raw. The illustrious Superstar’s role comes just more than one week before the debut of Ventura’s new truTV series, Conspiracy Theory, which airs on Dec. 2 at 10 p.m. ET.

Nov. 30, 2009: Verne Troyer
Best known for playing Mini-Me in the Austin Powers comedy series, Verne Troyer will serve as guest host on Nov. 30 from Baltimore. One of the shortest yet largely recognizable men in the world, the actor has more than 15 years of television experience.

Dec. 7, 2009: Mark Cuban
Instead of humoring the NBA Universe with his infinite antics and making authoritative basketball decisions for one night, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban will spend time delegating responsibility to WWE Superstars when he hosts Raw on Dec. 7 from Dallas.

Dec. 14, 2009: Dennis Miller
Comedian and radio talk show host Dennis Miller, meanwhile, will serve as the host of the 2009 Slammy Awards during a special three-hour presentation of Raw on Dec. 14 from Corpus Christi, Texas. The five-time Emmy award-winning comic is renowned for his improvisations and acerbic humor about pop culture and politics.

Funny that Fifa have said nothing..

Video needs to be brought into the game to help the ref and keep the game fair, how many more times must this go on?

I blame Fifa and their stuck up ways, i'm sure they wanted France in the final anyway.

Ugly day for football..

It will not happen. At the end of the day, it's not Henry's fault. I mean, he did it, it should have been considered as a full stop. It's the referee who didn't make his job right, he should have seen it.

Henry should have put his hand up instantly before playing the ball to indicate handball. He is an amazing footballer, he does not need to cheat to win.

I remember one instance I think it may have been Liverpool V Man U... maybe '98 (not very good with my football), where Liverpool were 2-0 down, and Robbie Fowler was brought down in the box. The ref called the penalty decision, but instead of taking it - Fowler told the ref that he had simply fallen at the wrong time and there was no wrong doing.

It's footballers like this that maintain the rules of football, and Henry should have done this especially considering the importance of the game. ALSO, Henry's handball was not accidental as we see a lot - it was purposeful - he stopped the ball and then controlled it for a pass.

I didn't even watch it anyway, just saw some clips this morning on TV because the controversy was everywhere lol Everybody was talking about it today at Uni, it all went crazy.
But yeah, bad luck guys. The French team won't get far anyway, quarter-finals max.

Lauren

It was his fault, he purposefully controlled the ball in order to keep it in play. I'm not saying he deserves the things said about him, that is terrible. But he really should've indicated the handball as soon as it was played.
