Disclaimer: The following article is an opinion-based critique of a popular discussion board, and one that could be run rather more effectively if ever the admins and mods wake up to the fact they are slaughtering free speech by their abysmal set of rules and attitude.

There are several things wrong with the discussion board Thisisbigbrother.com :

1) The administrators and moderators do not believe in free debate. They loathe even tame arguments that would be better left to the individuals involved as opposed to stepping in all the time like that zit on your arse that just won’t go away.

2) The rules are pitiful for the most part, and serve only to take away a member’s right to hold an opinion. One particular rule (if you can stomach it) follows:

"Administrators of them forum have the right to delete, modify or change the content of any post at any time for any reason without notification to anyone. They can also ban or restrict forum members for any reason at anytime. If a moderator edits your post on the forum do not remove the edits."

And they say freedom thrives online?

I haven’t laughed so hard in years.

3) The members themselves. Yep, the overwhelming majority of the members are thick and are completely incapable of independent thought. Indeed, you will be lucky to find one that can write 3+ words in a given post, let alone a sentence!

4) Because point 3 was so fitting, refer to 3 again.

5) See 4.

6) You have more chance of finding intelligent life in a parrot’s faeces than you will ever on the discussion board that is TIBB.

Let us hope that, by reading through this informative critique, those over at TIBB will learn how to improve themselves considerably.

Footnote: Luckily, their fascist mods/admins can’t censor this particular thread, so it will remain here for all to either laugh along with (readers like me) or to infuriate (readers like them).

Either way, this article is A-Grade material and should be compulsory reading for all!

This particular moderator (he knows who he is)publicly rejoiced in banning one member with a very childish video and name calling. This video remained in the banned members list for some time, until another member posted a comment on the unprofessional behaviour of that moderator. It was then removed.

Somebody is unhappy that they have been banned aren't they? I have been a member for over two and a half years and have found them to be mostly fair in their decisions. Somebody needs to get out more. I take it you have been banned from DS too. That says it all really."

Wombai was banned for sending abusive PMs to mods, Thomas was banned again after a fair few final warnings and we all know why Stacey was banned. They were all banned for reasons relevant to Tibb, at least TRY to get your facts right before you try to make a point.

If this place is so bad then no one is forcing anyone to stay.

Wombai was banned for sending abusive PMs to mods, Thomas was banned again after a fair few final warnings and we all know why Stacey was banned. They were all banned for reasons relevant to Tibb, at least TRY to get your facts right before you try to make a point.

Also a little harsh a permanent ban for her being wise & keeping it off the forum & sending PMs to sort it out.

Wow, when did James give you access to the towers? You speak with such authority on the subject so I can only guess you've been given special privileges to be able to see how other people are punished. The admin DO hold mods accountable for their actions, just because we don't broadcast the details (like we don't with infractions for members) doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

I hate it when members try to talk about infractions because no member can see another's infractions so you're literally pulling an argument out of your arse if you try to go down that path since there isn't a way for you to have any grounds for it since you are only guessing each other's infractions.

The best advice I'd give to anyone who's been permabanned is to keep your head down and accept it since we might change our minds and give you a second chance further on down the line if we think you've learned from your mistakes. People who try to stir trouble afterwards will never get a second chance.

Go answer some reports then, deal with some complaints and calm down wailing members that have had a meltdown over a day ban while dealing with constant spambots and trolls and then you can start demanding stuff.

I agree though with some of that 'review' about how the right of free speech is kind of removed when we aren't even given notifications or anything that our posts have been modified and I do feel the mods need to sort out of their priorities - because allowing certain members to call eachother '*****s' etc and have that stay up, unedited seems fine.

Yet yesterday I get a post edited for calling [a guy who virtually attacked me last week] simply a 'Mong' and it was edited as if I had called a Black Guy the N Word or something - because I got about 9 Messages from nosey members asking me what 'Offensive word' I used. :laugh:


But yes, the members aren't as bad as that wanker is making out and if it isn't AhemdFan it's clearly some douche from DigitalSpy.

The mods were perfectly in the right banning that miserable old woman and ThomasC.

Thomas ended up running the forum at the end of 2010, this time last year was when the 'Thomas C Reign' began.

He kept his stupid award shows going, he had silly threads about his life 8 times a day and he just became this big novelty act for the whole forum to talk about.

EVERY Thread had his name in it, it was ridiculous.
I'm glad he's gone.


Stacey however, made a silly mistake - the poor girl has learned from it for ****** sake, she's not that bad and tbh there's alot more people on this forum - older and who should be more 'wiser' than Stacey and some of the younger members, who bully and are aggressive against numerous 'newbies' and other members, and they have yet to receive permanent bans and doubt they ever will.
