View Full Version : I just had a nightmare!

It's not often I have them, but I have just woken up due to a nightmare. The details of it are sketchy at best (my memory and recollection of what happened seems to be fading fast) but I do remember that I was at work and my colleagues had become zombies.

It was one of those horrible ones though that even though I'm awake, everything seems unreal still and everything keeps making me jump, even my windchime in the wind made me freeze on the spot and stare at it with such panic and alarm.

I have no idea why I even dreamed about zombies either, I haven't watched or spoke about them for a while.

Any hoo, just had to share that with you all. Feel free to talk about your nightmares. :)

:/

I hate the ones where you try to scream/shout for help but nothing comes out. Or you try and run but can't move

For some reason I've been having quite a few about tornados :conf:

It's that initial confusion between reality and imagination when you wake up that I find the worst.

Some of them seem so real, especially when people are talking to you in nightmares, it's so weird

Hate it when you can't shake off the feelings for hours. Or even worse when someone you know was in the nightmare and bad so you treat them like crap the next day cos you blame them

I've had a couple of really vivid nightmares recently. I've been so disturbed when I've woken up, that I've not wanted to go back to sleep, in case the nightmare has continued. I'm blaming these nicotine patches I'm using as I've never had many bad dreams in the past

I had a dream (kind of a nightmare but was just weird) last night too and I don't usually get them. :suspect:

I woke up at 3:30 this morning having just had a nightmare. I knew most of the details then, I fell back asleep and can only remember the sound of some maniac's footsteps getting closer to our bedroom door.

I was absolutely terrified yet now I can't remember what it was all about, which is frustrating me.

My nightmares are always about aliens and UFO's. murderers and zombies have never scared me. I'm pretty sure i could defend myself against those. But what can you do against aliens on a UFO? even if you kill them, yur still stuck in the UFO.

It's good when you wake up and realise it was just a dream, it always makes me feel better to know that, however bad the dream was.

Oh yes I hate it when in the dream everything is perfect and far better than my real life is, but then I wake up and realise it was all a dream :bored:

I always have a dream that lasts about 30 seconds where I am half asleep and in the dream I am just walking somewhere and then trip up and in my bed I **** out like uncontrollably as if I just fell over. Then I wake up and just go back to sleep.

I was asleep and I dreamed that voices outside woke me up, which was worrying in itself as I live miles from anywhere. I tried to turn on the light but it wouldn't work, power cut I thought. I got out of bed and when I got to the landing stopped. I could just make out the outline of someone crouching in the shadows. I said... hello... and he lunged at me. I could see his evil face with a massive mouthful of sharp, pointy teeth. He grabbed me round the throat and I screamed as his fingers tightened... and I woke up with my heart hammering. I reached out for the light and pushed the switch. No light... power cut, I thought. Got up, went on to the landing... and there was the figure crouching in the shadows. He lunged at me and grabbed my throat. I woke up screaming again realising I hadn't woken up at all last time and was still dreaming. In the split second it took me to reach for the light it occurred to me that I may still be dreaming and that I would never really wake up... but this time I really was awake. It was very scary, and every time I started to fall asleep I could hear voices outside. I'm not easily scared, but that was a particularly horrible nightmare and all the more strange because I can still remember it so clearly.

I HATE the ones where you dream you've woken up in a nightmare but you haven't.

Like once I dreamt I woke up to go to the toilet and did my whole routine of sipping water and looking out of the window over the houses and stuff, all fine. Walked across the landing and into the bog, turned the light on and there was a man behind me in the reflection with like a manic look on his face and it honestly scared the crap out of me.

I woke up for real and felt like crying lmao.

Oh god, I get so scared about things like that, I swear I try not to look at the mirror when I go to the toilet in the middle of the night

Having quite a few nightmares lately. The one last night was that there was scorpions under my bed, then I jumped up and pulled the matress off and my brother was shouting at me for waking him.

Ive also had one where I thought my phone was a bomb so I turned it off and hid it under the bed. Found it 3 days later :bored:

I hate it when you wake up from a good dream just as you're getting to the good bit or when you realise that it is just a dream!

also hate the mini nightmares where you feel like you're falling or something like that and you wake up and jump out really quickly just before the impact

I hate having dirty dreams as well. in fact I just hate dreaming and sleeping in general

I have a few times, Im trying to learn how to make myself have them more frequently.

Apparently if you make it one of your habits to look at your hands at various points through the day and ask 'am i dreaming' in your head, eventually you will start doing that in your dreams and realise you are dreaming, inducing a lucid dream :D

But what if you dream that you're looking at your hand and think its not actually a dream? Mind blown .

If you can move when you're asleep then you're not actually asleep and should be aware of any dreams. You're paralysed during proper REM sleep which is why sometimes you might wake up and can't move for a few seconds (although it feels like about an hour and you think you're dying)

Agreed. Worse than nightmares. I woke up the other day thinking I had an iPhone 5 thanks to my dream

Well apparently that does happen, but usually your hands will look different when you are dreaming the majority of the time or something :suspect:

I havent managed to force one with the hand thing yet like, so its probably a load of bollocks, they just happen when they happen. BUT when you realise you are dreaming, when you know you are about to wake up, if you spin round in your dream you can make it last longer(and also change where you are in the dream)...and that does actually work, oddly

I tend to get those horrible recurring nightmares :bawling: Had one the other day where you lock the door and you know you've locked the door, be it a toilet door, a bedroom door, front door, to keep peeps, zombies, vampires, murderers out, and the locks suddenly don't work :o and I am never strong enough to push the door closed again :bawling: And sometimes when they get you, you can feel the pain in the nightmare, especially if someone stabs you :bawling:

I keep having dreams where I get into fights, but when I punch or whatever, everything slows down so by the time I hit them its just like a little touch.

I also get one where Ive been spiked with something, and my teeth grind so much that They start coming out . I usually wake up with a really bad jaw from those ones, so I must be grinding my teeth in my sleep :/

And of course, my usual worst nightmare ever, that everyone else finds hilarious...people who are going to be sick...chasing me :bored:

Lmao I had one of those today, I was walking over this bridge and I kept talking to myself over and over about how I was dreaming and it occurred to me that it didn't really matter what I did, it was weird
