View Full Version : Going Out Or Staying In?

Which do you prefer, a quiet night in with some nice food or something, or a big night out on the town?

Niamh.

Depends on my mood really but I've gotten quite lazy so my night out usually consists of a few glasses of wine infront of the telly!

Staying in when you wish you were partying hard feels awful and vice-versa.

But most of the times I'd rather go out to my favourite clubs/bars, have a very wild night then go to an after hours party and dance until 11:00/12:00.

I also really like inviting friends to spend the weekend at my house too. There's plenty of space, my family isn't too bothered about the mess and noise and we usually go out on friday then we all go back to my house to rest for a bit and on saturday, my sister and her friends usually have some barbecue with loud music etc so we just stay there eating trying to get rid of the headache  at night we go out again and on sunday afternoon we watch football together at an outdoor bar near my house.

Quiet night in. I don't like going out at night, going out in the daytime is much more preferable.

^ yeah thats pretty much what happens when I go out. Fell asleep in Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester once, was with my mates and as soon as a paper shop opened at 7am we went in and bought more beer

Worse still, I was in college that day at 12pm and I still went armed with my bottle of "water" :blush2: that was interesting

Lately and especially months leading up to Christmas there's nothing better than getting in from work when it's already dark, getting my PJs on, chilling infront of the fire with a book, TV, laptop or something. And if I do go out it's usually in a small group to the pub for a few hours or to watch a game or play pool.

Don't do clubs or getting pissed to the point where I can't remember who I am. Think I grew out of that when I left school.

Because I'm not legal to get served in bars or clubs at the moment - have to wait until like next year :idc: I basically have to just walk around town when drinking [unlucky].

But It's good banter really.

Although I do love it when your house is free for the weekend and you can get loads of people up, feels alot better than walking around town with drinks.

Alot more chilled out, yet Immense when you're in the house having a party.

But yes, as soon as I can get served in a good club - I'll be there.

In. Few drinks. Takeaway

Also in regards to this and to what Niamh said, I really don't understand how middle aged women can sit infront of the telly with a take away - drinking wine?

My Mum has now got to the point of doing it, I miss the days when she used to have her fit friends into the house drinking until Sunday.

I just don't get it though?

I mean surely when you're drinking wine infront of the TV by yourself or whatever - your main goal isn't to get completely smashed is it?

And even if you got 'Abit Tipsy' what is the point? When you're going to bed straight afterwards. :idc:

It just seems like a dull, boring waste to me.

I can understand - a couple of drinks of beer in the house and then going out clubbing, but I don't get this whole 'Let's drink wine with a lovely Chinese Take Out ladies! :)' thing that women seem to do.

Cheeky tit :p

I've done all the clubbing stuff. I don't particularly like waiting an hour to buy a drink that costs 15 times more than in a shop while nestled in some strangers sweaty armpit. Then wait three hours for a cab and pay a fortune for that too. Fun? Where?

And just cos people drink at home doesn't mean they are single/alone ;)

Enough of the middle aged crap too, tweenie

The good old nights of being a drunk 15 year old going to see what drunk girls you can pick up in town without even getting into a club :worship:

Can remember one time when we done that my poor mate went over all confident to some like fit 20 year old, tried one of his always failing lines, and the reply was "**** off you dickhead, who do you think you are Stevie Wonder or something".

I look quite young for my age so didn't get in anywhere til I was 17 :bored:

Definately staying in, having a good meal and chatting with someone.
I go to functions/parties but am not a party animal and I hate the noise in pubs where you have to shout to be heard.

If friends/family are going out to a country pub or for a meal I enjoy those evenings though.

Hmm.. I like both. I like getting dolled up and having a good old fashioned night on the town, but I like the casualness of a night in. I do find that nights in end up sillier and funnier than nights out.

I first went out when I was 14, but I'm one of the youngest out of my group of friends so I could just get away with looking younger even though I looked older than I was when I was in my early teens. i could grow a full beard by the time I was 14/15 (and some of my mates still can't :joker:) so I just didnt have a shave before I went out and I looked older anyway :idc:

This has got to be the most ridiculous thing to post ever.

The whole post is presuming that people only drink alcohol in order to get sloshed.

1) You can drink and enjoy beer and wine without the need to get absolutely pissed.

2) You can have fun without getting pissed aswell.

That's the main problem I had with a lot of school kids who would spend a good half hour downing whatever they could get their hands on trying to get as bladdered as possible in the shortest amount of time possible and then spend the rest of the night laughing about how they can't walk in a straight line, throw up in the road, lose their knickers, go to bed and then end up losing 3 days of their life in some deep depression/hangover.

Sitting at home or in a nice pub/bar actually enjoying what you're drinking whilst actually indulging in conversation with family and friends is a much more fun way to spend an evening.

Depends who your with really.

I could settle down for a quiet night in if I'm with a mate, watching a movie, a couple of drinks, a pizza or Chinese and a good long talk.

But generally I live to go out, have a laugh, listen to a bit of cheese music, go fancy dress, get absolutely rat arsed and view the picture evidence the next morning.

True. If you are invited to a party. Just go for it. Do it. Haha yes you tend to make random friends in town. Or I went to a popular pub not long ago. And eww people were more desperate in there than town. A man coming onto me. Then I see these 40 year old women who obviously want a toy boy to shag! lol

Congratulations on the baby!! Also where is 30stone nowadays? (Ben). I wonder if he knocked up his girlfriend? He always posted pics of himself or a few of his girlfriend then one day he kind of stopped coming online..
