- That covers England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The cities have been picked strategically geographically to open auditions to as many people as possible It's also gonna be possible to audition through Youtube and Facebook.
- Auditions will be held in January 2012.
- Potential housemates may not audition if they have an agent or are signed to an agency.
- The audition process will be tougher on fakes. It will hopefully also expose the boring housemates. Producers will be looking for controversial, interesting, unique and fiery personalities. At least half of the housemates selected must be deemed as intelligent/intellectual.
- Although there won't be an age cap on auditionees, but producers will mainly be looking only for potential housemates that fall into the 18-40yrs category.

The main Big Brother TV advert this year would be designed to feel like a movie trailer. It would open with a fade from black, panning empty streets, filled with missing posters pinned to posts and walls, and blowing along the street. Then the camera would cut to a skyline shot of London, with large pink beams lifting people into the sky. It would then change to skyline views of several large UK cities to reveal the same thing happening there. At the last city, the camera would rotate, so that it was looking down at the city from above, then zoom out rapidly to space, revealing that the beams of light are all focusing on a large eye, hovering above the Earth. The advert would then end with a countdown to the date of the launch show. Towards the end of the advert, the remixed theme music would begin to echo faintly in the background and get gradually louder. Running time would be approx 30 seconds.

Promotional TV advertising:

While the 'Invasion Ads' provide a unique way to promote Big Brother 13, they do little to entice anyone to watch. The next set of ads resolve that problem. They would begin airing 3 weeks before launch night, cross channel. 5, 5*, 5US, ITV1, ITV2, C4, 4music and Sky 1 will all air this advert at least once. Almost every break on C5 will feature the advert. There are a series of 3. The first, and longest is the first I'll post here. You can see it below.

The ad will air in the order of the screen grabs below. It will start with clouds drifting slowly and the remixed Big Brother theme playing in the background. The text will then drift onto the screen and disappear. At the end, the eye will appear like a hologram in the clouds. The running time is 25 seconds.

Before the launch, 5 would announce a Big Brothers Big Takeover campaign, which would see part of 5s branding altered slightly to incorporate the Big Brother logo. Bumpers and stings would the main things adapted. I'll expand on the Big Takeover programming material later :)

These are the C5 stings. They've been changed from red to pink and obv the BB logo has been added.

Here's a new promotional platform for BB- Living billboards. This concept would involve one travelling 'Pod,' capable of holding several people at any time, doing a circuit around the UK/ROI for several days at a time. The stops would include London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Cardiff, Belfast & Dublin. The Pod is fitted with 3 beds, an oven, sink, toilet and small Diary Room, which also serves as an entrance or exit to the structure. The Pod itself would be propped up on large legs, and positioned in a prominent area of the city in question. In order to spend time in the Pod, application forms will be filled in online and potential 'housemates' must be prepared to spend at least 24 hours inside. Alongside normal applicants, at times celebrity guests will inhabit the Pod, to further boost the profile and create attention for Big Brother 13. The Pod will be watched 24/7 and guarded at all times.

As a billboard as it first appears that design looks brilliant, but as a living pod - it wouldn't work as pre-season promotion IMO, and would be so costly it wouldn't be worth it. It might get a bit of coverage at first and something in the local press, while folk here might keep an eye on it - but it wouldn't have the impact you're after IMO.


However, as a one-off launch or pre-launch twist it would be brilliant and has been done to some extent in Italy (with a pop-up bubble in a city centre) and Brazil (a Glass House in a shopping centre), with 4 or so HMs moving in and them competing for a place in the house, either through a vote or through a White Room "last one standing" style competition.

Brekkie- Fair point regarding the expenses, although even considering that I personally would at least set it up in one prominent location for a week or so, maybe Trafalgar Square or somewhere else that's busy in London. That would rule out any expensive transportation costs. It would be nice to use it as a twist, but I just can't think of anything gripping enough yet :(

I think the tried and tested BBBS format is proven to work, so I'm not really going to change anything in that regards. It will still follow the main show daily on either C5 or 5* but won't air on Saturday or Sunday. An audience will remain alongside the current presenting team and regulars.

The sofa is designed to loosely mimic the centre of the series logo. The actual sofa is structurally sunken into the floor, which is capable of lighting up different colours to reflect the mood of the house. The seating area is accessed by a couple of steps which can also illuminate. This section of the house is almost entirely bordered by angular, mirrored walls. The TV display is built into pane of glass, using a state-of-the-art electrode and projection system within the glazing. A pendant lighting system has also been incorporated into the seating area, above the coffee table.

There are only two beds in this room; each fits 7 housemates. There's also a big walk-in-wardrobe at the back. Housemates have to be careful here though- there's a lockable glass door and Big Brother could decide to play nasty at any time. To the right of the walk-in-wardrobe there is a glass door which leads to a private bedroom. (pix later)

One housemate will get this room all to them self. There's subdued lighting and no alarm in the morning with padding cladding the walls. I'm not really sure how hm's will gain access to here. Maybe on the first night there would be a live task with them battling it out to not have to share a bed with 6 other people.

The garden walls predominantly feature glass panels with an ivy design applied on top. These panels would be lit brightly from behind at night. There is also an outdoor shower for when BB decides to turn nasty and wants to lock the main bathroom. The gym is also accessible from the garden.

Erm, have to be honest-in terms of the whole house I'd say the garden is the weakest so far, I mean it's nice but a bit small and there's not much too it if you know what I mean? It's still nice though, I mean the structure is nice and the gym idea!

My idea would be to have an extention to the garden to be opened up mid-series? Where that pink bench is by the gym entrance you could open up a whole extra area beside there that would give the housemates more room- possibly linked with a task or twist?

The Diary Room is entered through a sliding door in the main living area. The back walls are lined with white padding, reminiscent of a cell in a mental hospital.

The black vinyl that previously adorned the floor of this part of the house has been replaced with a green carpet. The glass bathroom has also been replaced with a colourful display of walnut and backlit cloud-etched glass panels. Otherwise, little has been changed apart from some new, vibrant furniture and a charcoal grey veneer replacing the previous kitchen wall.

This house is a work of art! You've really mastered sketchup Conor, honestly- this project is brilliant, love the CBB living room, prefer the carpet being colourful and yeah the gym's a really nice addition- does this mean we'll be seeing a new bathroom?

If I have to be completely honest my only critisism of the house is the garden being too small, but yeah apart from that it's amazing :love:

The garden has changed the most from June to January. Now, replacing the old outdoor shower area there is a winter cabin themed snug, complete with log burner. The garden perimeter has been reclad in wood to continue the winter cabin theme, but is occasionally interrupted by bright block colours to contrast with a dull January sky. Astro-turf replaces the fake grass and the pool has been removed and replaced by a hottub elsewhere. The gym has also been relocated to the main living area.

The two large shared beds are gone and replaced with 13 regular singles. The significant change to this room is the replacement of the walk-in-wardrobe with a new bathroom area. The bedroom toilet from last series has been renovated and now includes a shower. The luxury bedroom is also gone.
