I have a current balance of £(one hundred and something) on my HSBC debit card account but an 'available balance' of £21??

I read online that this means you have pending transactions which I don't (or shouldn't have). Does anyone know any other explanation for this, its really annoying me as I need to order train tickets to get me to london heathrow by friday and its not allowing me to buy them as I am guessing I don't have enough 'available balance'. If I can't get train tickets I can't go home.

Not every Card is the same

But London Tickets are over £21 - are they not?

Any standing orders? Not sure if that can be an explanation

Banks are total tits for this. I hate it!

Stupid question, but have you bought anything on the card over the weekend? Weekends are terrible for this I find as it often won't show your actual balance until midnight on Monday :(

I'm afraid available for withdrawl is all you'll be able to use until you get some more funds in there and that will (with most banks) have to be before 3PM that day

Pretty much what Kerry has said. Sounds as though you have indeed used the card and have forgotten about the transaction - some can take 3 days to clear from your account.
