Steps have announced details of their first UK tour in ten years.

The group will embark on a 14-date jaunt dubbed 'The Ultimate Tour' next year, kicking off in Belfast's Odyssey Arena on April 2 and wrapping up at London's O2 Arena on April 19.

The shows coincide with the release of their Ultimate Collection LP, which is out now, and their four-part documentary series on Sky Living.

Lee Latchford-Evans told Digital Spy: "The response has been really positive and, scarily, the demand is steadily creeping in.

"It's quite a nervous time for us. Last week all our previous albums re-entered the iTunes Top 40, which was really weird."

Fans who purchase the retrospective through Ticketmaster from today will be given exclusive access to a ticket presale.

It was recently reported that the band turned down the chance to appear on The X Factor two years ago.

I saw them live when I was about 7 :o

This is going to be a huge fail :( they cant do their usual bubblegum pop because thats not popular anymore and if they try and be cool and 'new-age' they'll end up looking like a bunch of plebs :s
