View Full Version : Is This An Ok Breakfast?

Ok so I don't eat a normal breakfast with everyone at school because I don't like going to the canteen in the morning. (for those that don't know (boarding school)) so instead I eat a meal that I can consume in my room.
A protein shake and Belvita Breakfast Biscuits (that supposedly release energy slowly to keep you full for longer)
I usually last until lunch without being hungry but I was wondering if this wasn't like death by breakfast.

Sounds decent enough to me. :)

Charlie - does the dorm/boys house have a fridge? If so, can't you keep some cereal in your room, just nipping down to get the milk?

I think you should try have some fruit also.

It does but its communal and people steal everyone elses stuff. I don't like cereal or milk anyway though. :/
I am going to beg my mum for a mini fridge over half term just so I can have proper meal substitutes when I don't go to communal meals because of social scares.

Good shout - easily kept in the room (and you could take some from the dining hall in the evenings I'm guessing - or take some at breakfast to take back to your room).
I know it was a long time ago: but fruit was always made avail for us to take back to our rooms/dorms.

I don't like fruit. I never eat fruit, I love veggies though and eat salad with every meal (that I do go to)

If I get a mini fridge everything would be so much easier. I would be able to have yogurt and salad and lots of healthy stuff.

What type of protein shakes are you drinking - if you don't like milk or fruits?

Boarding school itself isn't so bad tbh. It's just different people find it easier to adapt to that others - some loathe it, some love it. Charlie does seem an unhappy soul though. :(
You could add some carrot sticks.

Instant hot chocolate powder and the hot water tap in the sink.

Not really, I hate having no personal space or time. I don't plan on coming back after I go to Singapore at half term, I am going to run away and stay in Singapore.

You do realise Charlie that hot water from the tap is not fresh water don't you? It's teeming with bacteria.
so you're going to run away and cause your parents untold worry as well as possibly put yourself in danger.
Not the best of ideas tbh.

The tap has a drinking water sign above it. I'm sure its fine.

Well it is the idea I am choosing to adopt. Whether it lasts or not I will at least I will get a few more days with my friends before coming back here. I don't have a lot to lose tbh.

Agree with Pyramid. It really won't work. Just tell your parents you don't like it. If you're really that desperate, you could move. How old are you (if you don't mind me asking)?
I think drinking home/domestic hot water increases your risk of Legionnaires Disease.

If you're in Year 13, you've only got one more year to go. I don't think you'll be able to get out now, as it's very difficult to move in Sixth Form. :(
Just cope for now.

Not sure if it's only hot water (think cold might be too?? dunno).
However:-

Water from the hot tap is not suitable for drinking in any circumstance.
