A thread for discussion of contenders that are in the running to try and claim the Christmas #1 from the X Factor this year.
A campaign on Facebook has already started for 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' to take the crown this year.
Below are also other tracks that are due for release around the festive season period.

Personally I'd like it to be Smells like Teen Spirit, not because of the campaign but because I love that song and Nirvana are one of my favourite bands. Also, this year was the 20th anniversary of Nevermind so it'd be a nice tribute

I can't seem to find much info on songs due for release in December. But nowadays songs take a while to climb up the chart so expect a few from November to steadily climb up during December.

The other two could be, but Matt Cardle won't stand a chance, I'll be surprised if he makes top 20 ;/

Ah, haven't heard it, guess it's not very good then.
I can actually see both Cher and One Direction having more successful careers than him, just goes to show yet again that the winner doesn't always do best out of the show, look at Joe McElderry compared to Olly Murs.

Well, it's not bad Per se, it's just he's debut single didn't get to #1, all his fan's will buy the album and only a small number of people his next single

XF will most likely get it again but I'd love for Smells Like Teen Spirit to block them from the top spot. Criminal is hardly a contender, it will be lucky to make top 40 at best.

Imagine if Love On Top just managed #1 for being such an amazingly sexy song :amazed:
It'll NEVER happen but imagine if a song just went to #1 with no campaigning (preferably Love On Top though)

The classics make it back every year but not enough to go to number 1. Im surprised enough people still download it each year. I guess loads of people love it. I always underestimate the number of people in the country.
