Matt Cardle felt uninspired after 'X Factor' tour..

Matt Cardle has revealed that he felt uninspired to write his album after the X Factor tour.

The singer, who releases his debut LP Letters this week, admitted that he expected his album to take longer than a year to make due to a creative block after the UK-wide jaunt.

Discussing the recording process behind the album, he told Digital Spy: "I actually thought the whole process would be a bit longer because I felt pretty uninspired after the X Factor tour.

"I'd been learning the same songs over and over and been performing them to crowds for ten weeks and wearing silly outfits. I wanted to get back to being myself as quickly as I could."

He added: "Luckily the inspiration came back really quickly and I'm really pleased with the result."

Cardle recently claimed that he "compromised himself" by singing "pop songs" on The X Factor.

#2 in the official midweeks, but I guess its where you look to suit your agenda. he's not quite the flop people expect him to be. some people shift albums more than singles and I've said all along that he'll be an album seller.

He's doing my head in with the constant X Factor bashing. he wasn't hard done by and it gave him a big platform that he wouldn't otherwise get. Most other contestants are grateful for it, especially the winners even if it has gone wrong for them. I don't understand why he's doing it because he's probably alienating his fans with each rant
