View Full Version : Next years judges
The new panel is splitting people, a lot of people hate it but some people do like it. But with the press reports and the viewing figures I don't think the current panel will be back next year. What do you want to happen and what do you realistically think will happen?
If the show is to be a huge success again next year I think they need to bring back Simon, Cheryl and Dannii because it would cause a media storm but I doubt that will happen.
I do think Simon will almost certainly be back in place of Gary even if he doesn't mentor a category. Even if Simon doesn't return, I'm not sure Gary will be there anyway, he seems to hate the show at the minute and he's not going down well at all, not even in a panto villain way like Simon.
I've got a feeling Kelly won't be back, I'll be amazed if she is. I still think shes too big a name for it. My money is on us getting Nicole Scherzinger which in turn gets her off the US panel for a stateside shake up next year. The US hate her but she went down really well over here, and Kelly might go down a lot better in America, if they literally just do a straight swap which they should.
Huge question mark over Tulisa, and I think they'd rather have Cheryl on the panel. If they can talk Cheryl round, Tulisa will be dropped faster than shes dropped N Dubz. Shes useless and clueless anyway and shouldn't even be there
Louis has nothing better to do, so will be back
So in all, I think next years panel could well be Simon, Cheryl, Nicole and Louis. They'd kill to have Cheryl & Nicole on the same panel, it would be Dannii v Sharon allover again but magnified 1000000000000 times

I want Simon-Sharon-Danni-Louis. </3
But if they went back to 3, the original 3 ftw!
Can't stand any other judges now.

If X Factor is on next year. I'm seriously doubting it

And Cheryl isn't, she ruined the majority of her acts and had no ****ing clue whatsoever.

The contract is until 2013 though isn't it?
So we definitely will have it on our screens for a decade at least :joker: :joker:
Can see it ending after that though.
They'll keep Kelly for sure, she's entertainment!
And Cheryl isn't, she ruined the majority of her acts and had no ****ing clue whatsoever.
She had the winning act in her first 2 years despite being given a dud category in 2009 and she finished 2nd last year with Rebecca. Shes one of the most famous women in the country and the tabloids love to feature her. Its all PR for the show. Its no coincidence the ratings shot up when she joined and they've dropped again now shes left

I can see ITV wanting her to stay but I can also see Kelly not wanting to commit to another series (a bit like how J Lo is currently playing American Idol, although Simon & ITV wouldn't be so patient). But if she does I can see her swapping with Nicole to spice up the American panel

Simon's rumoured not to be happy at all though and wants each week to rise by 10% viewing figures

I can see them sticking with the same judges tbh, I think axing them after just one series would cause an even bigger media furore than Cheryl's sacking. I find it very unlikely Cheryl would want to go back also and Simon is busy in America, he won't return from the American version for us.

Apparently ITV are expecting and want him back next year

Replace Kelly with Cheryl, and add Simon as a fifth judge, and you've got next years panel.

Kelly's the only new judge I like, I liked Gary and Tulisa at first but everything Gary does seems disengenuine and rehearsed while Tulisa has shown everyone with her antics yesterday that she's useless.
Keep Kelly if you can't get Dannii back and axe the rest of the panel. Don't bring Cheryl back as she was useless, She only won with Alexandra because Simon pretty much pointed her in the right direction with her performance of Candyman and Joe won because by the end there was no one else better. Cheryl only did well because she was always given the strongest categories.

Simon and Dannii had the strongest categories in series 6

The under 25 categories are typically always the strongest, there's a reason why they've won every year apart from the first. If you get given Girls or Boys then chances are you'll stand a decent chance of winning. If she comes back and can match her success with the groups or overs then I'd take it back but she was never going to be given those categories.

I think Gary is brilliant. The only problem I have is I can practically see Simon Cowell pulling his strings like a puppet

Amazingly I'm actually liking the new judges - never thought I would but anyone is an improvement on Cheryl in my opinion.

I don't think the new judges is the problem with losing viewers anyway. It's that the producers do the same every year. The yearly clown, the yearly villain, the yearly one who comes from nowhere, the yearly manufactured boy and girl group. It's the same as always. Janet for me is the only special one there with a unique voice, but it's not enough to keep every viewer. Still having over 10m is good enough anyway.

I dont know why they keep banging on about ratings. The reason for the loss of ratings is because not everyone wants to sit on a saturday night through the whole show and have to watch loads of adverts and dermot reading out numbers. I absolutely adore the show but I dont watch it when it is actually on. I tape it on the freeview box and put it on half an hour later than when the show went live and then I can fast forward through rubbish bits and adverts and its a lot better. I know a lot of people who do the same or watch the repeats so there isnt a loss of viewers. The show is still popular. In fact its one of the best years. But people dont wanna sit through ads etc. So they dont need to worry about ratings. What they do need to worry about though is getting each act to really up their game and the judges to get back to being likeable like in the auditions. And make sure the theme is stuck to or just get rid of themes all together. Oh and throw frankie off the show and then all is good

People like you are still counted in the overnight ratings. 2m viewers have gone AWOL no matter how you cover it up

She took it a bit too seriously and I doubt she'll ever be back. I bet they would've rather had Nicole Scherzinger in her seat last year but Dannii got pregnant so they couldn't sack her
