1. Album out EVERY year
2. Single out every month or two
3. Always touring

Is she on speed or something? She's bound to explode sooner or later and when she does it wont be pretty

I know. Just shows how manufactured she is. She never explores new territory with her music or strives for credibility, just continually churns out the same stuff that isn't any different to your Britney's/Kesha's/Perry's.

Yet Gaga is the one we're always hearing about being exhausted lol.

She's past her best imo, 07-08 was her best era. I saw a couple of interviews with her and she sounds to cocky for her good :bored: Its like she thinks shes the next Madonna...

Her songs nowadays are okaaay but nothing special

She puts out singles and albums, but she doesn't really promote them like other artists, radio just sort of lap it up and thats what keeps her top of the charts.

That's probably come from spending all this time in a music bubble and not going outside of it and relaxing. She's definately past her best, I loved her back when she did songs like Umbrella and Unfaithful, then she went down the typical "LOOK AT ME, I'M NEARLY NAKED!" route

Her peak was with Rated R to be honest.

But the only reason she stays at the top of the charts is because her team of producers just put out whatever's trendy with the charts. She doesn't really try anything edgy (though that could be debated with Rated R) but rather keeps to the sound that the masses will definitely love.

I get the feeling that she doesn't really put any heart and soul into the songs anymore, it's as if someone hands her a lyric sheet and she just sings it. This new album she has out is absolutely terrible, the name 'Loud' describes it perfectly, her last album was actually okayish, I'd agree with that

Her best was what did the worst (Rated R) :(

People are starting to get tired of her already, if she carries on churning out albums every year then it won't end well. She doesn't have hardly any creative involvement with her work either, she's such a manufactured artist.

I've heard rumours that she's already doing her next album. At work we always have the radio on, and her songs are ALWAYS on, I used to like her, but, there's just been too much of her

her next album as in the one that's out in november called Talk That Talk? :joker:

New album is released next month. She has no writing credits on it which really surprises me.

Oh Jesus...WHAT!? She's just got No.1 for a single from her last album?!

We Found Love is the lead single for Talk That Talk

Nah that's the lead single off her new album.

But the lead single off the new one was released less than a month after Cheers (Drink To That) which was the 5th single off her last album :p :p

Ah right, but that's how it is, it's impossible to tell the difference between the two albums, they sound exactly the same

I don't really mind as much as I used to... partly because I don't listen to the radio. Plus her songs are a lot catchier than the majority of her peers.

If you did listen to the radio, you'd wanna shoot yourself :joker: they don't just play her new single, they play her last five too! Even all the way back to "Whats mah name"

-loves What's My Name, Cheers and Only Girl :blush2: and We Found Love... and Man Down... :/-

S&M and Love the Way You Lie can bugger off though

Doogle

S&M is awful :/

I end up loving 99% of everything Rihanna makes anyway I just wish it had a bit more heart. No doubt I'll love this album. Loud was a disappointment though. Complicated is so screamy and Skin is barely a song.

Rated R was a masterpiece and Good Girl Gone Bad was a very good pop album.

She knows how to reinvent herself. When she started she was girl next door (Pon De Replay, SOS etc), then she turned a bit 'edgy' (Russian Roulette, Disturbia) and now shes a dirty slag (S&M, We Found Love)

I do like her though, shes got some really good songs out

Scarlett.

I just wish she'd take a break, she doesn't need to bring out so much music, if she took a year out to make a new album, it'd probably be a lot better than her recent stuff. It's seriously seeming like she's starting to reach breaking point, it can't be healthy.

I totally disagree with everyone else moaning about how she won't go away - going away is what precisely kills off a career like Rihanna's. If you disappear, there is someone there willing to take your place. Ke$ha will struggle to get a look in when she comes back, considering we have Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and god knows how many other solo female artists constantly churning out music to remind people that they exist and to try and establish themselves as the most popular solo female artist. I say good on her for being a workaholic, if she wasn't then she'd be nowhere.

Going away for a bit would not kill off her career, if anthing it would make her career stronger. She went away for a little bit before and when she returned she was still able to get #1 singles.

Comebacks work the first time but the artist has to be big in the first place. Rihanna would be fine to take a short break.

Britney Spears & Christina Aguilera both took breaks when they were big and returned bigger with their first comeback, but it didn't work for their 38th comeback and now they're both pretty irrelevant has beens. Longevity isn't an issue when you consider people like Beyonce and to some extent Kelly Rowland have worked pretty much for the best part of the last decade without a break and are still on top

Shaun

I don't really understand the success of it - it's really an average song, and they were both suffering dying careers.

It wouldn't. Right now, she is at her peak. She knows it, so she's making the most of it. She can kick back and relax when her time is up, but if she works her ass off then her time won't be up for a very long time. I know Smithy laughed at me saying Christina Aguilera (I mentioned her because of the Maroon 5 collaboration) but I guess that's a case in point - she disappeared to go have a kid and now she can't get a look in, despite having the best voice out of the lot of them (except for maybe Beyoncé, idk who's better?) Nicki Minaj is another one who keeps churning songs out - keep the attention on you and nobody else can take it away from you. There is so much competition right now that you have to do what Rihanna's doing or you won't get it back.

If you're on about Maroon 5 & Christina Aguilera, it'll be because of them both judging The Voice and that song being big in America. UK media just latched onto the success of it over there and it became successful here too. You can draw parallels with Jennifer Lopez, American Idol and On The Floor. Her career was dying on its arse and theres no other reason for On The Floor to become so huge if she attempted a comeback by herself.

How exactly is she a has been? Her seventh studio album debuted at #1 in America and all of her singles (may I add they've all sold over 1m each) released thus far have peaked in the top 10 over there. So she's not really relevant in the UK anymore but the UK chart is a disgrace these days so it doesn't surprise me in the slightest. America is where it mostly matters, the hardest country to crack and she's doing brilliantly over there.

Also, when she went away for a while and came back, there was about half as much competition then. So many big female artists have sprung up out of nowhere since Rihanna re-emerged with red hair and an overtly sexual persona.

That's true but I still think that if she took a little break she would still be able to get number ones on her return. I think she's been in the business for a while now and she's built up quite a big fanbase so a little time off then a big comeback could work for her. Obviously that won't happen because her label will not want her off the radar anytime soon, she is their cash cow. Not the biggest album seller but what she doesn't sell in albums, she makes up for with singles. It will be interesting to see whether Ke$ha manages to maintain her success when she makes a comeback, she doesn't have a huge fanbase and she's one of those artists who if they haven't got a single playing on radio, they are forgotten about fairly quickly.
