11:46am: We're off! On the panel are producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. Michael has just confirmed that the title is i fact Skyfall.

11:47am: Sam Mendes says the movie will shoot at Pinewood, Whitehall in London, China, Istanbul and Scotland. He calls the script "fantastic" and has all the elements of a Bond movie. To quell rumours, he says, there'll be lots of action.

11:49am: Bérénice Marlohe, Naomie Harris and Judi Dench are the Bond girls taking to the stage, alongside Javier Bardem and Daniel Craig. Sam Mendes also reveals Albert Finney and Ben Whishaw are in the cast.

The only thing that gives me hope about this film is the fact that Sam Mendes is directing. A brilliant director, and he seems to be distancing the new film from Quantum of Solace, which can only be a good thing.

Bond is just a generic action franchise now. The Bourne films and Daniel Craig have murdered the dream for me. I want bloated, weird films full of snappy one liners and absurd action set pieces. Not Craig being an emo git stinking up the joint with his realism.

Tommy Wiseau is clearly the perfect choice.

Tommorow Never Dies was bitching too though because Bond had to bring down Steve Jobs and sidekick Scooter. And I was also a fan of the sheer insanity of Die Another Day. The World Is Not Enough is the real stinker of the franchise.

JAMES Bond will have a rival in the hunk department after rising star Ben Whishaw was cast as the new super-geek Q.

Handsome Ben will be the youngest actor to play the MI6 gadget master — and at 31 is 12 years younger than 007 star Daniel Craig.

His top-secret appointment to new flick Skyfall ends months of speculation over whether Q would return for Craig's third outing as Bond.

A source said: "Female fans will have more than Daniel to gush over now Ben's been cast as Q. He'll be a big draw.

"It's a bold decision as it means Q will be younger than Bond for the first time.

"His role will be very different from previous Qs. He'll be far more serious, as is the trend with the new films."

Q last appeared in Die Another Day in 2002 when John Cleese acted the part.

New incarnation Whishaw — who starred alongside Craig in 2004 gangster film Layer Cake — introduces himself as Bond's new "Quartermaster" in Skyfall. The movie — the 23rd Bond film — is due for release next October.

i think they let Pierce Brosnan go too soon. Craig still doesn't feel like Bond to me. He's just not Bond to me.
