FURIOUS Simon Cowell has told this year’s UK X Factor finalists they are not good enough – and two are set to get the boot this weekend.
In an astonishing rant at the remaining contestants, he warned he was concerned about their “quality and dedication”.
He went over the heads of all four judges in a video conference call to the singers from the States – and brutally told some they had “no chance” of getting a recording deal unless they improved dramatically.

Executive producer Cowell, 52, let the acts know he was “not happy” and things had to change “with immediate effect”.
Speaking in a Skype call, he declared: “This is your one chance. You have to take control of the situation and stamp your authority on the show. A lot of you are not doing that right now. Come up with your own ideas and demonstrate you are a recording artist.”
It is the first time he has spoken directly to this year’s finalists and shows he is taking the ratings drop seriously.
And it emerged last night there is set to be a double eviction on Sunday, which insiders say will pile the pressure on the singers and make it more emotional.
A source said: “Cowell wasn’t messing around when he spoke to them and he left them in no doubt they all needed to improve. He can’t be here because he is so busy in the States but he hopes this will help the singers and the ratings.”
Last Saturday’s X Factor was beaten in the ratings by Strictly Come Dancing for the first time since 2008.
But the source added: “We really think we can turn it round this week.
“They’ve lost Nancy Dell’Olio and we’ve got the Cowell factor.”
