And this time it really would be the last. So will it?

If the ratings dont pick up then yes.

If the ratings jumped up to average 2 million then C5 would renew it straight away.

Think they'll just keep the Celebrity edition and get rid the of the normal show.

Well it's pretty much guaranteed if LF isn't brought back the HL show will be getting under 1M a night.

I think it will be. CBB did well and even got non-Desmond empire coverage. Mainly due to the fact that Jedward, Amy Essex, Katona and Mr Pappazrazzi are all celebs the media want to cover.

The thing is I suspect C5 will always get lower ratings in general regardless of the show. Even if C5s top shows such as CSI were on C4 or even E4 they would get bigger ratings.

Imho BB was better this year than last years JJJ duvet-fest but it still got lower ratings.

Brian Dowling sounded way too optmistic when he said BB was a hit. I don't think the producers share the same opinion.

But CBB is a good deal for Ch5 and I hope they keep it.

Yeah definitely. And no other channel will pick it up.

I sadly think it will be... it will be the end of BBUK unfortunately.

Unless they like having 1 million viewers, then they'll keep it.

I hope it's not the last.

If the keep CBB going, maybe doing a 'normal' summer show every two years is better than nothing at all.

They will want it to be the last one if they don't bring live feed back.

They won't want it to be the last one if they do bring live feed back.

The problem is C5 want it to be something a manipulated soap opera (ie like a non-celeb Love Island type show full of pretty media savvy wannabes) and controlled through lack of live feeds

But the hard core original fans want it to be more veering towards a social experiment (which sadly it never can be ever again) with a diverse range of people (age, race, ugly, pretty, location etc) capturing what they get up to (Live feed) in non-soap opera way.

This is what we need. Back to it's routes. Of course it will never be just a "social experiment" again. The first 4 series were more of a social experiment. From series 5 onwards it turned more into a freak show.

Anyway Channel 5 know what we want. If they are going to be tight buggers and not provide 24 7 live feed then they are screwed. It's all or nothing. Even a bit of live feed won't bring the viewers back up.

I really want Big Brother to last forever. A celeb January series and a normal summer series EVERY YEAR and with live feed!! Please keep the vote to save too ;)

So yeah it's not hard even putting a live feed link online. They just want to manipulate the entire situation which channel 5 failed at. In CBB they wanted Jedward to win but Paddy did. In BB12 they wanted Alex to win, well lets just say they never wanted Aaron to win but he did.

So come on BB.. lets please bring back live feed. It's all we want. Thanks xx

Channel 5 are giving Big Brother a death sentence without bringing back the Live Feed. It pretty much rules Big Brother and the ratings.

They need to bring it back. If not Channel 5 will realise that the ratings are horrible and axe it.

I think it will stay on channl 5 for a few years, the ratings are doing ok for channel 5 and with the voting it makes more money

They would be foolish to after all the money they made off voting.

They need to bring Live Feed back as it helps you get to know the housemates better as there not being shown as freaks all the time like the highlights like to show it as.

Also it depends on if CBB9 is any good this year, because CBB8 dropped from 6 million viewers to 1.7 million viewers because people found it that unwatchable (myself included) and it effected BB12 in the ratings, plus it didnt help that only Aaron,Alex and Harry was the only good housemates in there this year.

Plus the tasks was so stupid and wimpy that the housemates was passing them all, what C5 need to do is make nastier tasks like eating catfood for £1,000 etc.

Notice how the two lowest rated series of Big Brother are the ones that didn't have a live feed.

If they don't bring back the live feed, they are basically asking for bad ratings.

Really hope BB13 isn't the last, I'd be lost without BB!

But they really do need to bring back Live Feed it's as clear as day!

I'm not sure though this time around the live feed will bring back viewers. Only about half the fans lost in BB10 returned for BB11 - and I'm not sure people will forgive Big Brother for the same mistake twice. (I came back for BB11, I can't see it happening for BB13).

Also C5 have added a load more issues of their own, without doing anything to resolve the issues which led to C4 axing it in the first place.

The future of BB all rests entirely on the upcoming CBB. If it manages to do well and sustains the < 3m that watched this years CBB then the summer series could see a boost, and frankly if it doesn't match the figures considering more people are watching in January then August then its a flop. If it bombs then its likely the summer series will too.

If CBB9 does well, thats 2 series within close proximity that have done well. If BB13 bombs, we'll see it replaced in 2013 by CBB11 (CBB10 airing in Jan 2013). If CBB9 bombs, then I think its goodbye to BBUK.

Not sure anyone actually did return for BB11 who wouldn't have returned just because it was the last one. CBB7 before it was up 400k on CBB6, BB11 up 400k on BB10. This years was completely lacking with no streaming at all though.

C5 have taken the Channel 4 problems and made them 10 times worse; their take on BB has been a complete disaster and I hope it continues to bomb for them for taking the remaining BB audience for granted. They deserve a £200m sized hole in their pocket, if not for anything other than paying £100m a year for this fail of a show, almost double what Channel 4 paid per year when it was at its height!

Above all else, BB doesn't fit in on Channel 5 (yet CBB does) and they don't really need it either. They can get 1m viewers by filming a few crap drivers for the day instead of going through the hassle of BB. It was a liability for Channel 4 in its last 2 or so years but within 6 months of signing on the dotted line its already a liability for Channel 5.

With promotion stuff already done for CBB it sounds like they are going to be throwing everything they've got at it. I think the celebrity version is safe but regular BB hangs in the balance unless they bring back live feed.

Now the precedent has been set for manipulative, greedy HM's to be the new hero's and win, I hope that is the end of it.

BB should be on BBC. They'd make it pure again, and they don't have to worry about ratings, because all of their money comes from tax payers. Put BB on BBC i say!

I hope it's not the end but C5 need to rethink the live feed issue and come up with some better tasks and go back to being stricter with the contestants and not keep giving them food and alcohol all the time. I feel that both CBB and BB were rushed this year as they tried to fit both series into a very short space of time - hopefully they will give themselves a kick up the butt for next year and get it right and that will then have a positive effect on the viewing figures.

I hope not :( What would C5 consider to be good ratings and what on average did they get for BB this year?

Desmond wanted 20 Million, but would have been happy with a tenth of that... 2 Million.

So he's probably not happy with the ratings, we'll have to hope for the best it is renewed next year.

For BB to survive on CH 5 they need to sack the jerk or jerks that decided against live feed.

Then they need to to sack the jerks responsible for the new editing style or perhaps I should say lack of style

Then they need to sack the jerks that think BB should be an adventure holiday home with no real hardship to its inhabitants.

Then they they need to sack the jerk that decided voting on face book was a good idea. With all the cheapo multiple voting fiasco that sqews results in favour of hate merchants ruining the series by voting out proactive characters.......

If all of the above is done then the ratings will climb.

As of course none of the above will be done its a sure thing BB is at the true end of its time on UK TV..........

Maybe I'm just being too optimistic, but I really don't think we can take BB12's ratings into consideration. C5 deciding to air BB12 one night after CBB8 was a BIG mistake in my opinion. Even though CBB was only 3 weeks, it felt like we were watching 2 full seasons back to back.

As CBB9 will be in January, I think the BB13 ratings will rise over 2m, due to the 5 month break! Hopefully I am right!!

Everyone is saying it's down to live feed, this reason, that reason bla bla bla... I think it's just because the show has got stale. It has done pretty much everything it can. I don't know anyone else, but I can't really be bothered to dedicate 7 hours a week into a same-y reality show when I could get something more entertaining and just as trashy from TOWIE. It's not interesting anymore, it's just junk (yes, I know it has been since BB3).

Please no!! Someone mentioned moving to bbc...noooooooo!!! It would be diluted even more!! Bbc is far to PC to have bb and couldn't take the risk of having lf. If it was on bbc3/4 then it would die anyway. Even less people watch those channels than c5!! On one hand I wish sky 1 had taken it as its got the viewers but they'd just 'showbiz' it up more into a entertainment gameshow rather than the reality show it's meant to be!!!

Man, I wish bb was innocent again :'(

alex_front2

BB would not work on BBC. They would never be able to cover 'pooing in freezer' incidents, and would find it harder to get the PC winner it wants
