Steve Jobs might have come across as a ****, but it's business, and there are plenty of people similar, if not worse than him in the industry.

He was a creative genius and his products are far, far superior to Microsoft products. He was also a lot more intriguing, interesting and entertaining to watch.

For the record, I do actually like Bill Gates, Steve is just better IMO however.

OS X is just a basterdized version of freeBSD kernel they nicked because they couldn't figure out how to make an operating system. Windows is less secure yeah but the trade off is that it's far more open source with a huge range of software and development tools. A huge amount of Apple software is made with Microsoft C++.

And seriously ... watch your back and install AVG or something and Windows isin't the minefield people make it out to be.

Apple have better integration for media production at a professional level - it's the industry standard for film and audio production - but that's about it. The rest of it is product fetishism that can be best summed up by that Frankie Boyle sketch where he jingles an imaginary set of keys and says "look at the shiny shiny!".
