In that environment you can forgive people for going over the top.

However if there is alcohol introduced to the house then the people awake should have a say and atleast save a bottle/can or two for those asleep. Its only polite.

If someone says they don't want any, then fine chug (sp?) it down and enjoy. Same with the chocolates the other day. Hiding alcohol as a joke only works for so long. It's something that isn't funny after the first 50 seconds at the most.
