According to reports, the 'Teenage Dream' singer has begun proceedings to end her 13-month marriage to the British comedian and actor.

SHOCK SPLIT! Is Katy Perry to divorce Russell Brand?

The singer said to have ended her marriage to Russell Brand - but Now's Dan Wootton debunks the story

Katy Perry is reported to have filed for divorce from husband Russell Brand after rumours circulated online.

But Now's Dan Wootton has got to the bottom of the story and confirmed it's false.

The 27-year-old singer's relationship with comedian Russell, 36, has been dogged by split rumours for a while and now US sources are saying Katy's putting an end to the 13-month marriage.

keen to start a family one day, but for the moment was happy being young and having fun.

'I would love to have children. That's one of the reasons you get married,' she told The Insider.

' I still love drinking alcohol so not yet.'

Katy Perry and Russell Brand's marriage appears anything but over

Katy Perry has defused rumours of marriage troubles with Russell Brand by logging on to Twitter to promise him sex.

'@rustyrockets it's your favorite day, Hump day! ♥♥♥,' Katy, 26, Tweeted to her hubby of 4 months on Wednesday night.

She also hinted she might be getting her body in shape to try for a baby, writing: 'Today I quit my beloved coffee & make the switch to vitamin B complex ☹ Don't worry @starbucks it's not forever.'

US reports claimed this week that the newlyweds have been seeking relationship
counselling after just three months as man and wife, a claim denied by Katy's UK rep.

But there are to be testing times ahead for the couple - while Russell's been pictured looking glum alone in New York, his pop star wife is soon to embark on a 95-date California Dreams world tour.

'I think you can have it all,' Katy told Elle in a recent interview.

'You just have to work really hard because great things don't come easily.

'Everyone's been told that marriage is hard work and it is.

The same thing happened with Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, he wanted a family and seemingly she didn't as her career was more important to her. It's the sort of thing you would expect most to discuss before entering into a marriage commitment.

Russell and Katy looked miserable in many of their media pics the last few months, especially Russell, so their split came as no surprise to me at all.

He can be a bit of a marmite character at times, but no way is he hated in the UK, he's done nothing too bad to be hated.

As for careers, well if both had wanted to have Children then they could have worked it round the careers as many media couples do, that's what Nannies and Nurseries etc; are for when some want a career and Children, it isn't that hard to do, ordinary families juggle work, bringing up their Children, and and housework on a daily basis. Media couples have more money to manage it. So it all boils down to Katy finding her career is more important to her than wanting a family, so it is something both should have discussed before deciding to get married. They are therefore both at fault really.

It just makes the pair of them incredibly stupid for not talking about what they both want in life before marriage. That's the backfire of marrying someone you've been shagging for a couple of months they forget they need to get to know one another.
