There are few things so sad in the animal kingdom as when a mum rejects its baby. Via a quirk of evolution though, us humans will sometimes step in and help out.
This three-week old miniature 4" Francois langur monkey was born at ZSL London Zoo and is now being looked after by zookeeper Kate Sanders.

With its dark body and orange head, and after being born on the day the London 2012 Olympic torch route was announced, he's been called 'Flame'.
Following his three-week spell in intensive care, little Flame has been bonding with a fluffy monkey teddy to help him acclimatise to his real family for a happy ending.
