This just popped into my head completely outta the blue. Its not really an issue but rather something that I'm just curious about. This situation would probably never happen either but w/e.

Y'know there's that rule about being allowed to insult celebrities but not other forum members? What would happen if a (relatively famous) celebrity joined the forum? Like would we still be allowed to insult them etc.. ? :suspect:

Probably just the same as the BB housemates joining up, you can't directly insult them as it's against the rules.

I'd say it was probably sense that from the moment that they joined, given that they are a member: no you wouldn't be able to insult them.

I imagine you'd be allowed to offer "When you were in x/y/z previous to becoming a member here, what you did was disgusting and I hated you for it" but I'd imagine even doing that would give rise to them possibly feeling they weren't...... and chaos would kick in.

I think this was sorta asked once but about a housemate, they said you could insult the stuff they did in their job but not them personally as a member?

something like that I think /fail

I see. I was just wondering. I thought it might be a bit of a grey area.

That makes sense. But then again you could say that was an insult anyway? I don't know. :suspect:

I suppose but then the same sort of issues would arise like I pointed out with Pyramid's answer.

I'd love to see it happen though. It would be a really strange situation.

If Cheryl Cole joined, I would struggle to be civil with her, but as that is never going to happen, I'll be okay :D

Haha this caused a lot of trouble when Aaron's Brother joined the forum because it brought up the issue of whether it suddenly became a rule break to insult housemates if they joined the forum. It is a grey area but basically people should try and attempt to distinguish between them as a forum member and them as a celebrity where their actions are in the public eye and subject to criticism, so it might be ok to say "Kelly was being a bit of a bitch on the X Factor last night" but not to directly insult her and say "you bitch Kelly!" if she was a member here

:joker:If Ms Cole joined and was a member,I would really have to keep well out of her way I am afraid, there are very few people I don't like at all but she is one of them.
