The way i look at it is its that 4 months ago when he first released the video he was depressed and bullied then he moved school and got cocky because he got a few new friends
Trust me when you go from being bullied and having no one to suddenly being very well liked somewhere else likes you it does increase your confidence ALOT

you can't fake what he did in the first one, but I agree with what Karl said, it would change a person a lot, especially at such a young age (he's 13 I think)

UPDATE, PLEASE READ
To all my friends and supporters,
I made this video 4 months ago just before school was about to start. I was 13. It was a very emotionally dark time in my life. I made the video at 4:00am in the morning; I hadn't been sleeping at night for a long time, too many things going on in my head. I was dreading going back to school and I had not come out to my family yet. Only my closest friends knew. I didn't know how to say what I needed to say. All I could think about were all the bad things that had been happening at school last year, every year for that matter. I just couldn't bare to go through that anymore. I was done being fake happy, pretending hateful words didn't hurt, done hiding it from my family.
So this video was made for my friends that had moved on to High School who were worried for me, to say to them that I was going to take a stand, and to the haters at my middle school that I'm not going anywhere. I am who I am. I posted the video here and told people were to find it. That was it.
My friends were moved by the video and thought I did something important. I was encouraged to upload it to my Facebook page so more people could see it. Maybe it could help someone else going through the same thing. So I linked it Dec. 1st. My Parents saw it for the first time Dec, 2nd.
Then..... all this happened.
I never expected in a million years that it would have such a wonderful impact on so many people. I am truly humbled and truly thankful for all the love, encouragement and support from people all over the world. It's been incredibly overwhelming. I don't know what to say. Thank you so, so much!
Lastly, yes you have seen me happy in a couple short videos replies I posted; I would think that would be a good thing , and yes I do have friends, my High School friends, and I have made friends because when I came out they realized that they had hurt me and that they fealt sorry. The video is real, and true.
In the last few months everything eventually came out in the open, I felt a huge weight off my shoulders; I'm happy, I'm excepted for who I am, I'm more confident and feel stronger every day.
Thank you all, Love and peace to all who are hurting.
Jonah Mowry

Okay it's sad what he's had to endure and the things that he's been through but the thing is, why has this particular video gotten so much attention? There are tonnes of other identical videos on YouTube that are of a similar subject matter. It baffles me that all of those equally sad, and very preventible stories don't really get this much attention.

Youth is painful for us all. gay str8, black white brown, boy girl, it hurts. We all go through the hard part of trying to grow into strong confident adults, while still being subject to authorities that we don't agree with (parents/teachers).

It's a very difficult time, and we all know about it, we all went through it, and it really is tough. Especially in this new world of technology where we can compare ourselves with everyone else. Finding yourself in this new world is even more difficult.

I'm definitely grateful i didn't have the internet when i was a teenager. I think it makes it way more difficult.

Being someone that's been in the closet for his whole life I've been really really really grateful for the internet whilst I'm not out.

I don't care how cheesy this may sound, but it kinda gives me a place to fully express myself whereas I might not be able to irl, so in that respect I consider it a positive development.

Well i'm sorry you're in the closet. I came out at 15, so i can't understand how difficult it must be to be in the closet later in life.

such endearing compassion you have for your fellow man, scott.

Who cares which is the most "popular" YouTube video of a victim of homophobia? If it's getting coverage it can only be good news for LGBT campaigns. The amount of bile typed out just for the sake of "it's clogging up my feed" - scroll past it then  and it's certainly a welcome change from all of the lolcats and "ha ur a fag" **** you reblog, scott. I know you love trolling and that can be funny from time to time but give it a rest  because it just makes you look heartless.

[/ranting at scott, something i don't like to do ;_;]
