I have not seen this on the News
of course maybe it was on Scottish news.

Typical of the D.Mail to make this worse than it is.

I'm watching on my phone so can't see that clearly, but does that chap in the suit not look like Shaun? :suspect:

It's not like it was a joke at the victims expense, he was just laughing about his Taggart impression and how it tied in with there not having been a murder for 40 years

Yes thats what I thought.

On His paper Review
he has a go at the D.Mail.

So its a Tit For Tat, maybe.

It was insensitive. But then, despite his years in broadcasting and the expectation he'd be professional enough to understand boudaries, Matthew Wright IS insensitive. And annoying.

It is disrespectful, and very insensitive certainly as far as the family would be concerned - if 'we' were in their shoes, I'm sure we'd all fee that way too.

Sorry Arista, not seen the Scottish News on the TV but this a link for the STV and it figures on the headlines stories there if that's any help?

No but it was a joke at the expense of the story - which the victim's family wouldn't find so funny I'm sure.

he actually cracked the patter "There's been another murder" and had it pointed out that it was not 'another murder', it was in fact the first one for 40years .....which was part of the headline. and he then had a second go at the joke.

It is in pretty poor taste all the same. As is often the case with his show though.

The vid has been removed from the STV website by the looks of things: one of the comments on the matter though is this one: it's a fair point.

Matthew Wright advises complainers to "grow up" - something which Liam Aitchison was denied.
