Poor Role Model :nono:

Hardly. She was pissed off and had every right to be, they shouldn't have cut her off. Nobody watches the crap ITV News anyway.

You would think someone as huge as her would be able to Control her emotions in a better way on such a big stage though. Yeah be annoyed, but wait until off air to vent if need be.

Glad Lana won

Wasn't too bad of a Brits. Noel and Florence were great. Shame Blur were a letdown, Damon's voice just wasn't there tonight.

Maybe but it was in the heat of the moment and I'd be pissed too. It's the biggest award of the night, she wins it and she's not allowed to even give a speech. It's not on.

Noel Gallagher was excellent.

I Can't believe One Direction got the best single against all those contenders though.

This she won last year, and her latest album sucked as well :bored:

Feist or her should have won.

So bitter tonight, none of my favourites won... ****ing Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars and Adele :bored:

The Brits are a joke nowadays. So crappy.

But, wow, what an embarrassment. Ironic she speaks about being proud to be representing Britain at the Grammy's, she's become a worldwide star and then when winning a big award in her home country she's cut off after 2 seconds. Makes us look fools.

The Blur set over ran into itv 2 anyway, so I don't see how 2 more minutes would have made a difference. They left him up there long enough to read his 3000 word essay.

I can't believe they got song of the year. They really need to review the way the voting is done. But then again all the awards are agreed with agents and at set prices. It's all set up nowadays.

All their crazy obsessed fans voted in droves. They have fans all around the world too so I bet they all used Hotspot Shield to hide their IP adresses to vote. Hardly fair.

They have stan's, they could kill somebody and they'd be still fit, amazing etc to their die-hards.

You guys telling me JLS fans aren't just as bad?

Gaga fans are just as obsessed and she lost her Category. Stop being unfair. They are young and they won a Brit. I'm happy for them. Not like that Category was stacked either. It was pretty poor lol.

Exactly. I don't know much about Feist so I can't comment on her work, but I know for sure that Björk puts 30 times the effort into her albums, projects and shows than ****ing Rihanna does.

If Beyoncé or Gaga had one I wouldn't have minded because both of them have genuine talent. Rihanna can't write songs and she's pretty damn ****ty at singing live too. It just underlines the dubious nature of these awards that the artist with the poorest music wins because they have big sales. Its that whole quantity over quality thing.

I am so pissed ugh.

I actually really enjoyed Blur, probably because I was a mega-fan but yeah. When Phil Daniels came on for "Park Life" it made my night. Yeah Damon wasn't spot on tonight but I still enjoyed it, the energy was there.

Did anyone see Holly Willoughby and Alan Carr rocking out to them aswell?

Positives - Lana winning, Florence's, Noel's and Rihanna's performances, the man who walked in front of Corden like "bitch, pls" HA.

Negatives - ONE DIRECTION WINNING! Emeli Sande having no speech and Ed Sheeran clogging up the night.

Lana, Adele, Coldplay

Very happy for Lana, I think she really deserved it. Best Int. Female next year? Highly doubt it! But she's doing so well  Brit Award less than a month after her debut album hit the UK, amazing.

Highlights were Lana winning and Noel/Florences performances. The rest was awful. James Corden needs to **** off and never be on tv again and One Direction winning was just a disgrace.

Positives: BLUR. BLUR BLUR BLUR. Lana winning. Florence + Noel performing.

Negatives: How safe the winners all were. How dead the crowd's responses to genuinely talented and masterful artists like PJ Harvey and Kate Bush were. The choice of presenters (Cesc Fabregas!? Really!?). Ed Sheeran being rewarded for his diarrhoea music. Rihanna being rewarded for being a terrible role model and having a poor album. Adele's voice.

Say what you want about Adele but at least she makes proper music rather than miming to backing tracks.

But, when she performed she seemed distracted. The way she was looking into the audience was almost like she was looking for someone, her mind was elsewhere.

I know. I would have thought having clocked up as many sales as she has and had the success she has they she'd have more freedom to sing lesser known songs from the album rather than have to plug the same 2 singles from months ago.
I wouldn't have minded hearing Rumour Has It live.

Positives: Adele. Nit pick all u like, but the gal has real talent. And at least she sings live, throat op affected or not (more like nerves IMO).
Negatives: ADELE'S FINGER SALUTE (though I can see why she was bloody annoyed). The fawning Corden, who should have shut Albarn down after what seemed like a speech as looooong as they performed on ITV2. I LOST INTEREST IN THEM AFTER PARKLIFE AND SONG2. If only all their songs were that short. Albarn's 'notes' were a joke.
Oh, and One Dimension winning with one of the WORST singles of the year. And the 'suits'. lol.

Exactly, 21 has sold so well that loads of people would recognise it, and if not, they'd buy it after (and possibly the album). Singing the same songs again just pisses people off as it's always on the radio so it's not going to encourage many more sales.

Personally I'd want to hear He Won't Go/Take It All/One & Only as they're my 3 faves from 21 but I know full well she wouldn't do those.

Lana winning and her acceptance speech

I loved the awkwardness and ambiguity of the speech.

InOne
22-02-2012, 05:58 PM
Was that Emeli meant to have an acceptance speech? I noticed they cut to like 3 seconds of her looking a bit confused then went straight to Jessie J. I'm starting to find Jessie J terribly overrated as well.

I thought the whole show was so amateur compared to the Grammy's.

Like that Olly Murs performance. I thought he was a decent singer but his vocals were awful and he's gotten very arrogant saying he should have been nommed for Male Solo Artist. He's a long way off that yet.

InOne
22-02-2012, 06:15 PM
Olly Murs is horrific, I cringe whenever he is performing.

22-02-2012, 06:37 PM
Why did Emeli not go up to receive her award?

Ellie Goulding accepting her critic award killed off the speeches in that category.

I'd rather have listened to Adele's speech for 10 minutes than have to listen to Britain being humiliated by Blur and their god awful singing.

were people really expecting some tenor voice from Damon? There really isn't that much difference to how they normally sound..they're meant to sound like they don't give a toss

Tender/The ITV2 stuff got noticably better
