The date was Nov 11 and more than 60 teachers from around the South East had come to the Danubius Hotel, near Regent’s Park in north London, to hear what chief examiners for GCSE history had to say about last year’s exam.
The seminar was so popular that for some there was “standing room only”, but the effort soon paid off when it became clear how helpful the course was going to be for their students.
Paul Evans, one the chief examiners, was the first person to present. He told the delegates that section A of the paper “goes through a cycle”.
