Yes, I don't see why an act should do a genre of music that is completely alien to them - it's not what theyre going to release if they win

No - A artist has to be versatile

This is pretty much my view on the subject too.

Why? Most artists don't go from jazz to pop to rock to yodling to dance music in their careers

I liked it when it first started out as it was different for the show, but now I hate it because they just use the same themes every year, plus they use the themes to sabotage acts that would have had a strong chance at winning away from the themes (Aiden,Janet,Jamie,Eton Road etc) and to favour certain acts that wouldnt normally stand a cat in hells chance of winning away from the themes (Little Mix,One Direction,Marcus etc)

I don't mean it like that. I mean change it into thier style. I believe here in america for rock song week only like 3 or 4 acts kept it fully rock. other turned in Jazzy style pop, piano ballad, hip hop, etc.

I understand what your saying but not every song suits being changed, and over here when you get a rock song given to say an R&B singer,it actually does stay as a rock song and it doesnt suit the R&B singer 9 times out of 10.
Yes, im sick of the same old crap each year

Yeah they should be scrapped, but it is one of the main things about the show so they won't be.

Yes. they stifle the acts talent rather than bring out the best of them.

I agree Joey,Sophie Habibis is another act that got hurt by the themes imo.

Agreed. They are outdated and not relevant to the merits of each act. So what if Janet Devlin can't dance like Ginger Rogers . Can Adele or Leona Lewis? The whole XF show should be updated or else viewing figures will continue to decline, especially if Cowell doesn't turn up next year.

I don't know... I find them boring, repetitive and ****, but it shows who is the most diverse type of singer, which is quite important.
...I think it should be kept.
