Sympathy votes

At the moment it's a two horse race between Pete and Glyn to win BB7.Somehow I believe the public(sympathectic lot we are) will vote for Pete to win in the end.
Think of Michelle McMannus winning Pop Idol,and Steve Brookstein winning the X Factor.

I Agree with you. Pete will also win because people feel it is 'noble' and 'morally correct' to vote for Pete to win. This was also the case with NAdia from BB5. People over compensate to try and demonstrate, 'oh we aren't judgemental at all'. That is why I didn't want Nadia to win, and although I really like Pete, that's essentially why I don't want him to win.

I agree that unless something really unusual happens that pete will win in the end which is a bit boring and predictable.

Interesting to compare how the winners of other big brothers were doing a few weeks in. From memory:

BB1 - Craig was not that popular until the confrontation with nasty nick
BB2 - Brian looked like a certain winner from the start
BB3 - Kate wasn't popular until well into the show and was disliked by a lot of girls early on
BB4 - I think Cameron looked like a winner from fairly early (though i can't understand why myself)
BB5 - Nadia was quite an outsider till well into the show
BB6 - Anthony was not that much of a favourite until Maxwell and Saskia left

Pete's odds was 4/1 to win at the start,but after a week he was evens.Glyn at one stage his odds were as high as 25/1,but his odds have been tumbling down to 9/4 now.

Yeah it's much closer now but i still think that petes going to win in the end

I think Glyn has the upper hand as a back runner all the way through he will pip Pete to the post because people will think the show was a fix if Pete wins.

I do think Pete will win eventually but there are a number of other contenders now who are quickly becoming popular with the public. Eventually, though, Pete will beat them to it but he needs to do another funny thing soon because amongst all the bitching it seems like he hasn't in ages!

Well, I liked the fact Nadia was something different but that's not the sole reason I voted for her.

She was actually the best housemate by a mile that year. Pete is not.

I think that the second list of what you 'think' above is very accurate maybe Glyn 1st and Pete 2nd, but I definately think that Nikki and Aisleyne will be in the final 4. :thumbs:

I wouldn't vote for Pete because I feel sorry for him. I would vote for him if I felt he was the best housemate and deserved to win.

There doesn't really see a lot to feel sorry for. He's smart, he's funny, seems cheerful most of the time and the ladies obviously love him. Hell there's more reason for jealousy than pity. :p

I do see the point about people voting for what's PC and shows you as being "open-minded" but when it leads to someone as downright awful as Nadia winning a series that was full of much better characters, you really have to draw the line.
