Kanye's 2010 album is outselling his 2011 album as well, it's a case of more time = more sales. Both artists are big enough that sales don't just fall flat after the first week.

Kanye's personality gets way more hate than it deserves. Yeah, he was a dick for interrupting Swifty at the VMA's, but the guy was hammered, an alcohol problem he picked up after his mother passed away just a year or two before. And guess what, he was right; the Single Ladies video is iconic and known worldwide - that dance routine is legendary. The same can't be said about You Belong With Me. And it's the fact he cares so much about the award shows (well, at least he did) that got him on stage, he cares about the industry and that people get their props when they deserve it. He's an incredibly passionate person.

Everyone who works with Kanye has nothing but praise for him.
