Cannot see a thread for this song. I don't care about the other contenders for #1, this is a beautiful piece and for a bloody good cause.

I know it's for a good cause, and I hope it raises lots of money, but I have to turn it off when it comes on. The lyrics are from letters these women have written to their husbands. Unfortunately, there are lots of women - myself included - who have learned the hard way that it doesn't matter how much you love him, your love is not enough to protect or to save him. It's just too hard for me to listen to.

I love Gareth Malone, and as good as this is that it's for charity, and as gorgeous as it sounds, it's ultimately quite a dull song (meaningful yes, but dull nevertheless), and I'm pretty against the principle that it should go to Christmas #1 just because it's for charity, or as part of an anti-X Factor campaign.

Out of this and Little Mix, I prefer the latter, but I'd much rather a Christmas song took it, or Dominick The Donkey :joker:

It would make such a bad Christmas #1... I know its for a good cause but they could have released it in the first week of December and claimed that #1 tbh

I want the Donkey song its grown on me :joker:

It would be nice for it to get #1 but I hope this isn't going to be start of a new charity song trend to get christmas #1 every year

Great cause and it is something that will affect not just the families of those putting their lives on the line protecting this country but it also makes us appreciate their risk even more and think of them:).

I heard them performing this on SCD too!

Dreadful song but you can't moan because of the cause

Rather a charity song for No. 1 than some crappy X Factor inferior cover.

It's sweet and it's the kind of song that'll you'd expect to get Christmas number one purely because it's sweet
