No but for various reasons I find it impossible to be in a room with my father and that means I cannot come out until he leaves and the rest of my family would prefer to spend Christmas with him than me, though he did wrong.

Well looks like maybe one day you will realise that christmas is a time to put the past behind you, start afresh with people and let bygones be bygones.

Try it, regardless of how you currently feel about your father, simply accepting he will be there and not self exiling yourself from the family group, you may actually enojy your christmas a little more.

Besides if you feel things are getting on top of you and you want to lash out either physically or verbally, you can always retreat to Plan B and retire to your room.

Thats ok, its your decision. I dont know the reasons behind it but I respect your right to choose. I am not going to pry.

Think on though, why do you think you are not allowed to go elsewhere? It could be well meaning intention behind that decision, regardless of how you think it infringes on your happiness.
