Are you sure it was 2.3?

Without plus 1 it got 2.15m (8.5%)

Channel 5 was beaten by Channel 4 last night aswell.

When Paddy met Sally performed quite well didnt it.

I think the night was majorly let down by The Gadget Show which performed incredibly bad
but apart from that CBB performed strongly.

According to that same article, even though BB had around 500,000 more viewers, the audience share was 8.5%

Yet over on channel 4 coppers with 1.7mil had a share of 9% :conf:

Both were on at 9pm.

As places like Inside BB have shut down I have no idea where to get them.

But right now (early days), CBB9 is beating:
BB10 and CBB8 (so very slightly, but it's early days) and BB12 by double.

And if channel 4 had kept BB, they'd of likely beaten bbc 2 and possibly itv 1 last night.

I know I normally would defend ratings, but what do you expect when a footie match gets 8m? I think its decent for by far the toughest night since its been on.

Tonight should be in the 2.4m range, and because there is less competition on Friday, the eviction can get 2.5m.

MOTD went under 2m.
DOI was the lowest its been in 3 years
Wild At Heart at its lowest rating ever I think

Here are the BARB officials EXCLUDING +1 (no idea why BARB hasn't included +1, a bit unfair, including it would be an additional 100-150k:

Friday- 2.7m

It does my skull in that digital spy home page dont publish plus 1 yet do with channel 4

The officials are excluding +1...

Launch- 3.5m
Friday- 2.7m
Saturday- 2.3m
Sunday- 2.5m
Official average- 2.8m

Sat and Sunday added ~300k. Not bad.
If most can add around 300k , would be great.

And when are the rest of the officials getting released?

They really should include them, otherwise it's pointless having Ch5+1. I hope a special source reveals them when the officials are all counted at the end.

It said on BARB that there was no news on this channel THIS week. So maybe next week, they will have them released.

And officials come every Monday afternoon. :)

The eviction rating is a pity, but its still over 2mil with +1. It's hitting the target five want, and people forget this is presently bb overload. Give it a proper 6month break, advertise it as much as this time with LF back properly, and the ratings will pick up by at least another 500,000 imo. To summarise, the demand isn't gunna be as high if it's constantly in your face.

For now the real talking point for Channel 5 are those incredible LF ratings.

Also worth noting that the Kate Thornton anorexia documentary which aired on Channel 5 at the same time had 616,000 viewers - meaning 5* thrashed it by 300k

Would love to be a fly on the wall at C5 HQ today - obviously the rating was boosted by the twist, but it must be embarrassing for Jeff Ford that a show he didn't originally want in the schedules has now become the highest rating 5* programme ever

I think so yeah, it seems to have lost a lot of the casual viewership and you're just really left with the dedicated fan base tuning in each night, explains why the LF has got such good ratings as well

SSL2012
19-01-2012, 11:57 AM
The LF proved theirs a core and very loyal fanbase of at least 1million pretty much.

If five bring the LF back properly, and like i previously mentioned give BB a 6month break after the summer series. Then the casuals will return in higher numbers, and infact the LF could lure back a good few thousand of the hardcore's who at present feel disgusted with how its going.

Tbh i do think Five will renew, they can build on this and get the viewers up. Plus it has greatly increased their audience share/profits. It just boils down to Endemol demanding a ridiculously large fee, beliving it's still in it's heydey of 04.

Thursday there is nothing on, so it has become the highest rated show for CBB (in recent years too), I said 2.4m because of the nom twist. I reckon a lot of people want to see the aftermath after the LF.

Shame about the second show. Only got 1.7m but the highest share since launch.
It also WON it's slot at 11pm, as everything else (BBC1 and ITV) were at 1m-1.3m after 11pm.

The evictions of Natalie Cassidy and Kirk Norcross on Celebrity Big Brother pulled in 2.5m for Channel 5 - 300k more than last week, when Natasha Giggs got the boot.

The show's second instalment grabbed 1.7m (12.6%). Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side aired to 882k (9.1%) at 11.30pm.

I want LF ratings, they will be piss poor though seeing as it was only on for 20 minutes and the 15 minute delay would have been confusing to a casual viewer

Impressed with the ratings for the second show, they're lucky they're above 1m, let alone nearing 2m. And BOTS did very well also considering the time.

Good I suppose for a Saturday show.

Off topic, but i'm interested - does anyone remember how well the Saturday shows used to do in the days when BB was really popular? I'm thinking around BB3/BB5-7.

For Big Brother 3, Saturday's highest rating was in Week 7 and 5.6 Million
For Big Brother 5, the Highest Saturday rating was Week 1 and 3.9 Million
Big Brother 6's highest Saturday was in Week 1 and was 3.6 Million
Big Brother 7's highest Saturday was in Week 1 and was again 3.6 Million.

So rating wise, it's pretty bad.

For the Saturday's for CBB's it's always been around 2.8-3.1 million.

No it's hardly been, Ch4 and Ch5 are completely different.Even comparing it to BB10, it BEATS that on the Saturdays, and its just around 200k down on BB11 Saturday ratings. It also matches CBB8 Saturday ratings (the last Sat of CBB8 also got 1.7m).

Tonight will no doubt beat last Sundays 1.6m (up against Sherlock) and will be around 700k up on that, around 2.3m.

sherlock is most likely not to be commissioned for another series so when BB is back on our screens next year ( i hope ) we wont have to worry about that crap arse programme and benedict cumshotback

It has been getting around 150-180k on +1, so the +1 ratings should be around 2.4m.

I have been quoted figures down to 80k by other FMs .....

Tonight will no doubt beat last Sundays 1.6m (up against Sherlock) and will be around 700k up on that, around 2.3m.
