Eleven boys and one girl arrive in Spain to participate in what they think is a show called 'Dream Date'. However, host Jameela Jamil soon shocks some of the participants with the revelation that they are actually taking part in Playing It Straight...

Some of the guys are straight, and are here to try to win our girl Cara's heart. However, some of the guys are merely 'Playing It Straight' - they are actually gay but are out to deceive Cara into thinking that they're the right man for her.

Over eight episodes the boys take part in a series of comedy challenges, all the time trying to win time alone with Cara in a bid to persuade her that they're the one for her. In each show, boys are eliminated from the game - but will Cara make the right choices?

At the end of it all, if Cara chooses a straight boy they win £25k each. However, if she picks one of the gay guys, he will walk away with £50k, and she will win nothing.

In the age of the 'metro-sexual', can Cara tell who's 'Playing It Straight'? For that matter, can we?

The series is narrated by Alan Carr.

I love this show, I have seen two series.

One hosted by June Sarpong, where Zoe picked Ben, who was gay, as mentioned ^ but I thought it was sweet he gave her half the money, you could tell he felt like crap...I'm just a soft touch for a happy ending lol.

The other one was the the US version, where Jackie picked Banks and he was straight! Joy! I loved it when he had to tell her the truth at the end, and he said "Honey, I am as straight as you are beautiful." Sob, lovely. :)

Ah yes, I understand, but this is the thing, if she was only 'sure' of Sven being straight and none of the others, she'd have very likely picked him, just because he acted so straight. She luckily had Dean left and well done to her actually.

Yeah, I was happy for her. Although I think Sven was the most decent of the gay guys in the way that by saying he didn't find her attractive he didn't hurt her like someone like Sam did.

I hadn't watched playing it straight before this one and I only picked this series up half way through. I really liked it though.
