yeah sign me up as a lifetime member....hes the ONLY person in there with any depth or actual real formed opinions...hes funny as hell and hes been there and worn the tshirt...hes also dry as heck.....if you notice hes a great story teller really dry and wry...hes a mster of ambiguity and subtlety.. you never quite know if hes joking or not..but he'd have me in stitches all day as he looks at life from different angles....(his bemusement as to the whole natasha giggs situation had me in stitches too)hes laughs at the absurdity of life and the situation hes in....and his thoughts sort of ramble onwards....so you never know what hes thinking or where its going to lead....

to be a great actor you must have a vivid imagination.......thats why hes played 170 different roles in 170 different movies :dance:the mans a legend...even if he doesnt get medievil on the other b listers....lets make him the first american winner of any english reality tv show ever...lets drop this anti american nonsense and crown him our CBB champ.......go mikey go mikey:elephant:

Not on here...I mean in UK in general ...the fact is no american has ever won a reality tv sow in UK...the closest was david guest who was amazing in the jungle and rob van winkle who finished 2nd on the farm to jeff brazier? (do me a favor) even huggy bear got booted from the jungle...jermaine jackson lost out in CBB just because jade made shilpa a celebrity....but drik benedict should have won because he was by far the most interesting and funniest imho that year....we need an american winner BUT the southerners will vote for the eastender every time, sad.

yea thats why natalie has been asked to play 170 different movie characters in 170 different movies across the planet , often by legendary directors NOT
Shes played 1 simple one dimensional character forever in a simple depressing one dimensional soap opera
sorry shes a straightforward person, she may be harmless, but she doesnt seem interesting or especially talented. for my money to be really funny you have to have depth and originality and be a great story teller. she isnt the least bit funny or complex or original....sorry nothing personal. Its just like saying some people have musicality, whereas in this case Im saying imho natalie isnt interesting or funny.but she seems a basic straightforward person

I’ll admit that I had preconceived ideas about what Michael would be like in the house and I was completely wrong!

He’s very relaxed and has just the right amount of cynical humour. My favourite HM at the moment.

As for the other comment about Americans not winning, they just don’t have the fan base here. The celebs they pick tend not to be huge stars. Yet some of the local celebs are very well known. The numbers add up.

the reason I put natalie and denise at the bottom is mainly because I know exactly what they will say next...they are totally manufactured personalities who know all the cliches to say to get votes from the dumber audience members...I actually test myself and pause the sky plus and tell my missus what each will say next...its that predictable....whereas michael? votes his confidant because hes a ffing spy and gareth alfie thomas because he wants his shades and could have called him a more masculine animal than a pig////lol...the main is unique and he actually has something so many people dont use anymore sadly IMAGINATION

Actualy Janice Dickinsen came closer. David Gest was 3rd i believe, and Janice came 2nd on her year (behind the obnoxious Biggins). She should have won that year though.

I don't agree, i think Jermaine would have been a total bore if it weren't for the Shilpa controversy, Remember he's the first one that started saying it was racism. Shilpa herself never mentioned racism until Jermaine started whispering in her ear saying "notice what color your skin is, and what color their skin is". Jermaine really stirred that racism stuff. But apart from that he did NOTHING in that house. I just rewatched that season of CBB recently and i noticed that. Can you name any memorable scene from that season of CBB that didn't involve him telling Shilpa how racist everyone is? He really had nothing else to him.

dirk benedict was absolutely fantastic....but he too was bullied by jade and the horrible mates of hers...yet this was ignored...at one stage they even mocked him because cancer had made him impotent whilst he was having chemotherapy....SICK...yet we brits ignored all that and instead jumped on the shilpa racism bandwagon .....a pathetic argument about coffee beans....ps at the ende of that humiliating nonsense H from steps opens the other cupboard and shows the a bag of spare coffee beans....that was lost on everyone including prime minister gordon brown who thought it was a major incident? we go over the top about soe things and ignore others...we seemm to have lost all sense of perspective or maybe our media has and we allow them to manipulate us

dirk benedict was fantastic...I believe the reason he nor any american has ever won is because we brits especially those on tv always take cheap shots at the americans and there is an under current of anti americanism.

Most Brits are not sheep. American culture is part of every day life and has been for decades... their films, their food, their TV, their music... Every day more Americanisms are being adopted and accepted into our language. I don't watch BB USA but I'm guessing if there was a solitary Brit in there somewhere they would stand little chance of actually winning. That doesn't mean Americans are necessarily anti-British.

When Bill Hicks was alive he'd come over here and take the mick out of the English loads. I specifically remember a bit he did about footy hooligans and a bit he did about John Major among other things and the audiences lapped it up. American comics whenever they come over here always have a go at our food and accents (usually generalised cliches as they think we all talk like the Queen or Dick Van Dyke) and we take it on the chin. I didn't see the Jerry Seinfeld piece you referred to but I'd probably have found it quite funny as would a lot of other brits who don't give a stuff about the monarchy.

You do seem to be quite anti-English in the same way you're accusing the English of being anti-American. I think you may just be reading too much into the results of some rather crappy reality tv shows. The Americans that have taken part in them have hardly been the most respected or talented Americans in the public eye, or they wouldn't have been on those crappy reality shows in the first place, so you can't expect them to win just because they're American.

Please stop trying to feed me this concept that ALL Americans are accepting and gracious and ALL Brits are xenophobic idiots. I've lived and worked in Denver, New York and Washington and believe me, there isn't that much difference between the way I interacted with people there, and the way I interact with people here in the UK.

Ricky Gervais is so hopeless that this year he's been asked to host the Golden Globes again. That's not because the good old Americans are giving him another go... it's because he makes them laugh. Because you don't get him doesn't mean he's not funny. I didn't find Bill Hicks that funny.... that doesn't mean he wasn't, it means he's not my taste.

You have the idea that you're the only Brit on here who is not an idiot. I'd be interested to know where is was you lived when you lived abroad. I'm guessing it wasn't the USA... or that you've ever been there.

Michael Madsen is a prime example. How much support does he have on this forum? Even people who don't name him as their favourite agree that he's cool. I've hardly seen anyone say he's a bad housemate, and I've seen no one say they dislike him because he's an American.

If they have to put up with all this, makes me wonder why they even bother visiting in the first place if they have to put up with such rudness 'always the same insults' etc - as you allege.

Anyway, this thread is about a BB housemate who happens to be an American, it's not about Brits vs Americans and how you think the British treat Americans visiting this country. ;)

just had to rectify a misrepresentation by another poster...why dont you concentrate on proving your claim that all americans dont get ironic humour and that you of course do

Because this thread is not about Americans in general, no matter how much you want to spin it like that. It's about Michael Madsen being an amusing housemate in the BB show. ;)

The highly amusing part is that you are arguing with a poster who actually shares that same view of the man but it appears that has escaped your notice.

Ive lived here most of my life and I see us as hypocritical in many ways....the monarchy is a prime example....its a farce and we should allow american comics to rip the pis* out of them imho

Nobody's stopping Americans coming here and ripping the p out of anything they like. John Stewart on the Daily Show which is broadcast on more 4 regularly takes the piss out of the queen and there's never been any fuss made about it here. I think you're tackling a straw man here so I'm going to leave you to it.

yes more misrepresentation, youre making yourself look duplicitous. Where did I say all americans are gracious and all brits are not? if you want to see generalization see what others have written on here stating americans dont have irony and other such generalized nonsense about 330 million people...I have loads of american mates and they cant believe how much rudeness they have to put up with in this country from total strangers...its always the same insults...americans are dumb...insular...ignorant...war mongers...this ignorant generalization takes places in UK all the time.

Stop it now because it's just getting silly.

I don't know why you're arguing with me, I'm a Michael Madsen fan and this is a Michael Madsen thread. Your whole point for being on here seems to be to accuse others of generalising while you youself do the same thing. You're worrying about your countrymen generalising about Americans, while you generalise about the whole of Great Britain. What's even richer is that you've never been to the USA and yet you're telling me what it's like.

If you want to discuss BB properly, fine. But please don't bore me with any more nonsense or I will put you on ignore and you can rant away to youself.

Michael Madsen is a prime example. How much support does he have on this forum? Even people who don't name him as their favourite agree that he's cool. I've hardly seen anyone say he's a bad housemate, and I've seen no one say they dislike him because he's an American.

I've never lived in the UK so i can't say anything about my experience with everyday Brits, but i do think what "the truth" is saying is consistent with my experience on British forums.

That being said, it really has nothing to do with the thread and Michael Madsen being a good housemate. I'm loving Michael (and the twins aswell) they've all carried themselves with confidence and dignity. It's the British women that seem to be having a gameplan and playing for the cameras. Especially Nicola and Denise. They definitely seem to have an agenda against the Americans.
