Form teams, spread the word, get too excited, do this until we pass out.

Rules:
- Teams may be between 2 and 5 forum users.
- Teams must PM me their teamname if they wish to participate
- The teams will then be given private rooms to deliberate answers together (hopefully. Someone on the mod panel make sure this is okay with James plz okay okay)
- There'll be 5 rounds - music videos, films, TV, sport and geography
- If I even catch a glimpse of one person cheating I'm canning it altogether. I'm deadly serious. You're a royal prick if you cheat and I'll demonstrate that if I have to. Cheating includes but does not stop at asking other forum users for help, asking other forums for help, posting questions elsewhere, posting your answers before the deadline and results or using mod-powers to snoop at others' answers :nono:

I'm opening apps now because I've still got to collate 4 of the rounds of answers (I've already done the music videos). I'll close the apps in 2-3 weeks.

After talking with James [admin James, not LemonJam James or Etta James] I've taken on his idea. It goes as follows:

- Instead of giving each team 2 days to work at a round of questions, the team will have one hour.
- Therefore it'll be vital that the team can work together to arrange a time to be online at the same time.
- The questions will be posted in a private forum where only the team and I can post.
- You'll have an hour to work together and give as many answers as you can.
- Once the hour's up you'll be kicked out and I'll take your scores then.

Of course the main pitfall of this idea is arranging a time for the optimum number of team players to be online at the same time. Therefore I shall consult the teams way in advance of each round to get a convenient time slot for both the team, and I. Therefore each round will probably still last a couple of days (since a schedule of Team 1: 5pm, Team 2: 6pm, Team 3: 7pm and so on is unlikely).

They will, thats why the rules have changed. Previously each team got 2 days to answer all the questions in one round, but instead it's now an hour, people will cheat theres no doubt but this way it really shortens down the time they get to cheat!

I'd have thought this wasn't too much trouble personally - since you can say "oh we'll have a go at 10pm on Friday", it's not like I'll spring a time on you.

This way it just means less time for people to go crazy with Google and image editing software.

1hr isn't enough for 50 questions.. the nature of the quiz, ie screenshots, mean that you have to confer and brainstorm ideas for the ones you don't know then spend ages watching random vids etc. An hour kinda takes that away from it; we'll either know it or don't know it.

It's not the time limit itself it's the idea of a commitment. Even if I knew a month in advance ... it's the idea that I have an internal thing that tells me I gotta go on the Big Brother forum at 10 tommorow night kinda destroys me. I just got eliminated in the mole and I was kind of secretly delighted.

1 hour for 50 questions is more than reasonable.

In a pub quiz, you either know the answer or you don't. Giving people 2 days to answer questions, just negates the quiz aspect of it, and turns it into a battle of the google.

Nah it's a bit different to pub quiz's when they're just questions because those you really could just google all the answers. Most of the rounds are screenshots so it's not really that easy to work them out just by googling
