No, only the idiots who can't see the truth of what he said. Most of us appreciate his honesty, not the BS being spouted by the likes of Natalie, Denise and Nicola who tried to sugar coat their noms.

Agreed but as you can see from a comment above because everyone else (apart from Romeo to be fair to him) sugar coated what they would have said in the diary room he may look bad to most people.

Interesting you should describe her as a dog... but whatever's happened between them, she has brought it on herself with her relentless picking at him.
Love his noms, honest noms, and darn sure behind his back in the comfort of the Diary Room, the others would have been scarthing of him and the twins. At least he didn't hide his thoughts.

I think he has been the most entertaining housemate and I expected some unpleasant nomination for Denise from him, however, I already have spoken to a fair few people I know who liked him but have turned completely against him after saying Denise was mentally unbalanced.
Bringing in any reference to mental health matters or incidents can have a negative effect and unless he retracts it completely and admits he is wrong then he could well be the one in trouble in the public vote.
Personally, although I don't really care for Denise,I do in this instance think he overstepped the mark a good way tonight with her. I hope it hasn't ruined completely his chances though.

Doesn't say much for the GBP if they back that old soak because Michael spoke the truth. Her behaviour since Michael entered the house has demonstrated how emotionally disturbed she actually is.
I do wonder why on earth the producers allowed her in. It's really unfair to have someone like in there who has totally ruined Michael's experience. Her obsessive fixation with him has been one of the major reasons he has distanced himself from the others. When he tried to humour her and play along to keep the peace, it wasn't long before she started again. He's had ENOUGH of her, and I don't blame him one bit for his honesty.

is emotionally disturbed the same as mentally unbalanced?
Emotionally disturbed could mean that anything could trigger different mood swings and mentally unbalanced is more medical no? or am I talking nonsense? :suspect:

You are talking perfect sense. Some on here are flinging around accusations of Michael being "mentally unbalanced" and don't see the hypocrisy of their own positions:bored: Denise IS emotionally disturbed, it is a statement of fact. Her emotions swing wildly between two spectrums, especially when she has had a drink, and TBH she should NOT be in the house at all. How can the producers justify exploiting this woman's serious problems for the entertainment of the masses? They have also allowed her to constantly berate and harrass Michael without any intervention, and she has taken full advantage.
Think he's an ass hole, typical hollywood self obsessed tosser! If he really thinks she's so unstable, why would you kick a dog when its down...cruel, thats what he is!
One of his dogs is "Buftea", a recent addition. He found it emaciated, wild and roaming the forests of Romania while he was filming The Last Drop (2006). Madsen gradually tamed the dog, adopted it, named it after the town in Romania where they were shooting and whisked it back to beach-front Malibu.
perhaps he will do the same for this one.

I don't think he said emotionally, he used the word mentally I believe, that is the difference and unacceptable part of his comment anshowed a lot of discourtesy on his part to a female housemate that he chose to do in front of all the others, none I believe of the others agreed with him or really even were comfortable with what he said.
I like the man but no matter what anyone was like with me and I come across some strange ones at Uni, I would never use the term mental as to them in any way or comment in public when others were present.
He may not like her and she may annoy him but he has sat and talked to her many times,he went over with her coat on when neither had spoken to each other then he at nominations time chose to become more acidic again to her.
I know today from talking to lots of people I know who watch BB, it works out that at least three quarters of them have turned against him because of the mental comment.
He chose to do that, in front of everyone else, he could have said she was really annoying him and left it at that as she did with him in her nominations.
On this isuue he should 'and' he should be made to too,go and apologise for using the term of mental. It is not acceptable to humiliate someone on a show like that no matter who they are or whether someone likes them or not.
What he said about Denise was brilliant.
Yeah!...but he'll have to be careful when he gets out that he doesnt bump into Big-Tim ! :spin:

Here is what Michael ACTUALLY said:
"Denise and Nicola: I can't stand another minute in this house with Denise. I am not the source of the arguments, she is. I feel she is emotionally disturbed and like she said, it's either me or her, and I feel the same way".
He better not apologise for being as honest as the day is long. Her behaviour towards him has been creepy and bizzare and he is entitled to his opinion especially when he is speaking the truth. As for people turning against him, I'm not worried, since most of them mouth off about stuff they rarely understand, and probably never vote anyway. Since it's a vote to save he has a big enough fan base to survive comfortably.

Oh dear I have to eat humble pie again, I have watched it again and he did say emotionally disturbed,I was incorrect.
That is a rather different terminology and I thought he had said mentally.
To be fair, I retract most of my comments on posts on here however,on the live noms, I would have held back on being so harsh to Denise and took her to one side,he didn't need to go sof ar in front of everyone and embarrass her.
However, I was wrong in what I tohught I said and as I said I like the guy but he needs to hold back as to Denise just as he hopes she will concerning him.
Angus as ever, you are spot on in your record of what he said,so I withdraw the stronger elements of my post against him.
I do consider it a big difference between saying someone is emotionally disturbed as opposed to mentally.I did Michael an injustice there.

Well if they have turned against him, they're idiots. Sorry - has to be said. Michael still has a hell of a lot of support and I predict will have no trouble surviving tomorrow. In any case, are these people who have turned against him people who would actually vote? Michael is spot on and quite frankly if other people can't see it they're stupid.

My point on mentioning people I know who have turned against him was merely to highlight the fact that the voting audience can be very fickle,a careless statement can quickly turn people off him and these are people who have been voting to save him in the last eviction over Georgia.
It wasn't any scientific result or maybe even an across the board one either,I merely said I knew a good number of his voters thus far in the series who didn;t like his embarrassing a Woman, whether she is liked or not, in such a public way when there were lots of other ways he could have done it and left her some dignity.
I don't think people are idiots for altering their views on other people on TV who say or do something they don't approve of especially if they are willing also to take the time and spend money on them to keep them in the show on TV.
Also if Michael has a large support then Brian must be wrong because he said all through the voting the figures were very close, so it would seem Michael was near struggling to stay over Georgia.
Most of the people I was referring to, certainly do vote in BB series and as I said earlier had voted heavily for Michael in his battle to stay over Georgia, those stupid and idiotic people as you now refer to them,if they are not voting for him this time then he could be in trouble, however I don't think he is because he didn't use the word mental.
I did him a big injustice in my posts on this thread so will and have thrown some votes his way,I want Nicola to go anyway.
I however would never approve of anyone and I wouldn't do it myself either, embarrassing anyone in front of others as he did Denise,I would have said I cannot get on with her at all and therefore was nominating her but then if there was anything else I felt I needed to say then I would take her to one side and say it, not do so in front of everyone else.

Thanks Joey for apologising - I hope the others who voted for Michael will do again. He is a straight talker and yes maybe could have handled it better but I think he's had enough and nominated as he would in the diary room. Denise herself has talked and written about her emotional state over the years - so it wasn't so dramatic or shocking. I would also like Nicola out - don't forget she called Aaron a wife abuser and never retracted it despite not knowing him. It was totally untrue. Now that I found more offensive.

Hi Truth Teller. Well, Ammi told me to vote for Michael so I have done,:joker:.
No seriously, I was told he had used the word mentally not emotionally, once Angus had pointed out that error and I heard him myself tonight then I naturally retracted the stronger elements of my post as to him.

I think the past couple of days Michael hasent done himself any favours. He goes in huff like a child which was evident when Denise simply asked him to come in for a Jack D and Coke. He cant take any critisism evident when Natalie tried to reason with him. He talks AT people and not with them which is why nobody paid him any attention when he was justifying his task refusal. His character is strong yet unreasonable. You either like him for who he is and accept his rude and arrogant behaviour or you will inevitably be on his bad side.
I think its easy for viewers to like his strong immovable character because we are only viewing it. To live with someone with such emotional detatchment would be pretty difficult.

I agree. He seems to blow hot and cold with all the women in there bar the ones he slightly fancies (natasha) and his us allies the twins. I was surprised by his silly spat with Georgia too. That said, Denise has been annoying at times, and I detest the 'gang' who have put him the twins and georgia up simply because they knew they could. On that basis I want him to stay a while longer.....

He is far from emotionally detached, IMO he is in fact an extremely sensitive guy, but he has his own emotional baggage to deal with which he does his best not to inflict on others. He has devised coping strategies to combat his depression and his previous alcohol dependence, and he doesn't hide behind his weaknesses to try and gain sympathy. Neither does he want to take on other people's problems when he has enough of his own. Michael is comfortable in his own company and likes his own space, whereas Denise needs other people to like her, which somehow gives her validation, and she has no concept of other people's personal space which she constantly invades.
A lot of the antipathy he feels towards Denise is, IMO, down to her being in denial as to the extent of her emotional instability, neediness and alcohol dependence. She keeps on about Michael not "getting" her, but fails to understand that there is no requirement on him to do so. Just because she is indulged and pandered to by her friends and family, doesn't mean that her behaviour is in any way acceptable to complete strangers, as Michael is to her. As to Michael's interactions with the other HMs, he is now feeling quite hurt and annoyed that they all appear to have accepted Denise's version of events unquestioningly and it is they who are rejecting him.

There you go, point proven. Here's a guy who really has been through the mill and come out the other side. He has cleaned up his act and is doing his best to stay on course. Then what happens, he's slung inside a house with an out of control slapper who should never have been allowed to be in there in the first place in her emotional state. Of course the producers should take responsibility for exploiting the poor cow, but it was totally unfair of them to inflict her on Michael whose previous history they must surely have known about.
If anyone is qualified to comment on emotional disturbance it's Michael, and Denise would be wise to heed his words and sort herself out, the best bit of honest advice she's been given by him, and which should have been forthcoming from those who profess to care about her.

If Denise has any sense she will look at her behaviour during CBB and realise she has to make changes to her life. I believe she will not do it nor will anyone around her give her the proper advise.
Someone needs to knock some sense into her. Instead, it looks like she will just get the 'kid gloves' treatment.
