Former X Factor finalist Marcus Collins has confirmed the release date of his debut album.

The singer, who came second in last year's competition behind winners Little Mix, published a link on Twitter to a pre-order page for his as-yet untitled release.

"I'm delighted to announce you can now pre order my debut album out 12th March. Thankyou so much for all the support, (sic)" Collins said.

He added: "BEEN WORKING NONE STOP !!! I HAD TO MAKE SURE IT WAS RIGHT !! I HOPE U GUYS LOVE IT! I DO! X. "OK!! BK TO WORK!! SEE U SOON! X."

Last week on Lorraine, Collins teased details of the release and said: "I've found my niche now, I've found exactly what it is that I want to do and it's looking good."

Collins's former X Factor mentor Gary Barlow has reportedly been involved in the writing of the album.

That was fast :conf2:

Im glad to see that SOMEONE has finally had the balls to release an album prior to the following years launch, but 12 weeks to write and record an album?

Why rush an album? Why not take time on it and release it at the end of the year?

He wants to get it out in time for Mother's Day because only really moms will buy it.

Marcus Collins will release a cover of The White Stripes track 'Seven Nation Army' as his debut single.

The X Factor runner-up, who lost out to girlband Little Mix in the 2011 final, has apparently reworked the song into a pop track.

"I'm a huge fan of the original 'Seven Nation Army' and I hope people like my take on it," Collins told The Sun

He will have a couple of number ones then flop. His fanbase on the show wasnt as big as the likes of Cher Lloyd or JLS to have a good career from not winning.

Remember when Same Difference had an album LOL I think they're still going aswell :s

Take That's sound is not very like Marcus's though. I hope it's a good album for being so rushed, I like Marcus.
