Totally numb atm so this might not make much sense....

My name is David. I have been Kerry's partner for the last 18 years. I know how much this forum and some of you folks meant to her so think it's only decent of me to let you know.

Last Friday (13th), Kerry was admitted to hospital with liver and kidney problems. On Sunday she was moved to a specialist unit in a different hospital and seemed to be making slow progress for a few days. Yesterday morning i was informed that Kerry had contracted pneumonia. She was moved in to critical care where she slowly went down hill until this afternoon we were informed there was nothing else that could be done.

Kerry was disconnected from all support and passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by many family members just after 4pm today.

That's about all i can type at the moment.

David

I've not been on a few days, what a shock to find this thread. Awful news.

From the bit I've spoken to her over the last year or so she was probably one of the few mature members on the site. Yet, funny, caring, and extremely popular. R.I.P.
Always talking about her kid too. Such a tragedy to be taken so suddenly and at such a young age. Thoughts are with her family.

I hope she's at peace and in a better place now.

I suppose it's only a testament to how much of an impact this website has had on me for the past (almost) 5 years that I broke down in tears earlier. The circumstances of this rang too close to home - my brother passed away 2 and a half years ago from an unexpected form of pneumonia.

But there's something deeply upsetting when it's someone you've spent a good few years talking to but have never met outside of the internet. I was just talking to Lee about this and how we feel a little unable to share this grief with friends or family, since they'd struggle to understand.

Some might call us sad for caring so much about those we've never met - but in my opinion this is what makes TiBB a wonderful place. We might argue over the pettiest and silliest of things but at the heart of it I truly believe that we genuinely care about each other, and it's incredibly saddening when part of this community is taken away.

Don't think it's even properly sunk in for me yet. She was always there for me at my down points and always knew I could talk to her. Being a nightowl chatting was great as well, all random topics at ridiculous hours of the morning. Was looking forward to talking in the snooker thread to her as well, was expecting her to pop back up again one day in it. Just devasted, and I agree with what Shaun said fully too. You never realise what a close knit forum we are until you lose one of your own.

Hello,
I don't want any grief or to cause any problems, but I just wanted to leave my respects as TiBB was a massive part of my life and was very shocked and upset when Stacey told me the news. I don't frequent TiBB very much these days so I had no idea about this. I had run-ins with a lot of people on here, including Kerry, but at the end of the day we're all human and as much as we'd argue we all came together as a closely knit family. I won't post again. I can't properly sum up exactly what I'd like to say or what I'm trying to get at, but life's too short and I just want to pass on my condolances. RIP Kerry. xxx

Hello,
I don't want any grief or to cause any problems, but I just wanted to leave my respects as TiBB was a massive part of my life and was very shocked and upset when Stacey told me the news. RIP Kerry. xxx

Sorry for not replying for so long. I've had a few goes at replying but not managed it until now.

I am totally bowled over at the responses on here and other forums Kerry posted on. I cannot possibly reply to everyone who has replied and PM'd me individually but i would like to thank you all. Knowing Kerry is/was so well thought of online has been a huge help to me personally over the last few days.

The last few days have been a blur of appointments, meetings and arrangements. If it wasn't for family members i do not know what i would have done. I will be eternally grateful for your help and support this last week.

The arrangements for Kerry's funeral are now in place. It will take place on Thursday 2nd Feb (anyone wanting precise details please pm me). If anyone was intending to send flowers, could i instead please ask you to make a small donation to Helping Hands Rescue Center (http://helpinghandsdogrescue.piczo.com/?cr=1). Kerry would rather feed a rescue dog than see flowers dying at a graveside any day.

Thank you once again for all the kind words.

Paragraphs describing Kerry from each of the four Most Loved countdowns she appeared in...

#11 - Jaye
1st Round: 18 points || 2nd Round: 44 points || Total: 62 points.
Jaye, again someone who seems to just have disappeared. Maybe I'm dreaming things but you know I think you're awesome and you always post in The Den/Cabin/Shed/Lodge whatever it may be. You're such an intelligent member and fantastic advice giver. You're probably what I would sum up as 'an awesome woman'.

#41= - ~Kerry~
1st Round: 15 points || 2nd Round: 13 points || Total: 28 points.
~Kerry~, formerly known as Jaye, received votes because of how amiable she is. Comments that came with votes with Kerry included “very friendly” and “always there for anyone and great to talk to.” One member commented on the fact that she is “lovely to chat to on chilled out nights” and another said of Kerry: “a really nice member, very welcoming and fun to post with.”

#23 - ~Kerry~
Personal Best: 11th
1st Round: 12 points || 2nd Round: 52 points || Total: 64 points.
Kerry is widely known for starting chat topics that always get the forum talking and does so much to keep the place going. Kerry picked up points for “always being there to talk to” and for “being a fellow nightowl.” One member described her as “a real tonic,” saying that they “look for Kerry’s posts, she always brings a big smile to my face.” One member wondered “where would I be at 4am without her? One of us clan of insomniacs who like to discuss random things such as Scotch eggs, ghosts, what her dog should be called or me being all melodramatic and depressed, but I love her for it.” She’s a valued member of our online community and will talk to absolutely anyone, bless her!

#24 – Kerry
1st Round: 21 points || 2nd Round: 46 points || Total: 67 points.
Kerry’s turnaround on the forum has been nothing short of a miracle. Once reviled by many users, she quickly turned forum opinion round to not only become a much loved member, but a moderator to boot. “Kerry is lovely, she's one of those people that would talk to anyone to try to make them feel welcome, always up for a natter.” Kerry’s well documented night owl tendencies have endeared her to users who frequent the forum during the small hours, with many commenting on this. Kerry is “always cool to chat with at ridiculous hours of the night, good active poster.” Kerry is “good to talk to at 5am, another one that’s underrated in the humour department” said one user, while another reckoned “she helps keep the forum alive for all us night owls and has fitted into her mod role great.” Kerry is “always around if you need someone to talk to, another fantastic addition to the staff.” Kerry is “like the mummy of the forum”, according to one user, who “keeps the forum alive with some random threads. She always seems to have something to talk about. The place would be less busy without her.” Kerry has been described as “consistent, friendly, fair” and “she’s always there for people if they’re feeling down.” One user sums her up well, saying that they “love the straight talking, no nonsense Kerry and yet at the same time she has me in stitches with her quirky one liners.”

I miss her posts on here. x

Thank you peeps.

The funeral was packed with people. We had long lost friends, neighbours and family from all over the country attending. Most of them not expected. Once again, we were taken aback by the amount of love on show.

Kerry absolutely loved Labi Sifre's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vn-FZW94wbo&feature=related) 'Something Inside', so we played that going in. There was only myself and AJ that knew the songs so when 'Brimful of Asha' by Cornershop chimed up on the way out, it took most by surprise. It was at #1 in the charts when AJ was born and both Kerry and myself loved it.

Since Kerry passed away, i have been going at break-neck speed every day, sorting stuff out. My mind has been running at a million miles per hour. I haven't been able to focus on just what has happened properly. My mind is telling me my soulmate is gone but if i try to think about it, i lose concentration after a couple of seconds.

I have the strangest pain in my stomach. It is like i have an elephant standing on me. I want to pour my heart out, but the only person i want to pour it out to is gone.

Anyway... I thank you all again.

I'm pleased to read the funeral went well.

I echo here what Visage has said. It still saddens me, but I will draw on how loving, sweet, caring, and witty Kerry was to ease that sadness a little. It feels a blessing to have known Kerry in the short time I have been a member of TIBBs. I was going to write a little poem, but it felt too personal to do so, and felt it should be left to those who knew kerry longer than I did on here.

I am pleased for you that the funeral had so many turn out to show their love and respect for Kerry, that in itself shows how very loved she was. You must be hurting so much still, David, I hope you and your familie's pain eases with time. And you will always have those beautiful memories of Kerry.

It is weird when old threads get bumped, like the Emmerdale one yesterday and you're reading the comments and suddenly realise you're reading Kerry's comments from last year. Just goes to show you never know what's around the corner.

I just can't believe vile people like Karen Matthews get to live yet innocent and nice people like Kerry die.

I hate this world sometimes, it seems to reward the antagonists of the world.

I still think about Kerry often when i'm on here, mainly when we're having bad weather, knew what she was like for making threads about how windy it was or whether we'd had any snow. :laugh:

That's so true :( What I find worse with missing Kerry so much on here is that her passing was so unexpected :( if she had been ill a while it might have been that little bit easier to ease us into expecting her passing, and also letting her know how loved she was at every opportunity, but she was taken so quickly :( so it is that much harder to understand and believe it happened. Even now I still can't believe she is gone, but I do find her old posts on here a bit of a comfort to read knowing she was happy in her life at the time :)

Lovely thing to say Mockinator. She was a very special person,so many things I think of when I see them as to her.
Like John Bishop,(who she liked), when he is on TV and Leanne in Corrie who Kerry got so irritated about at times and Amy Childs too.

It is nice to see this thread still comes up every now and then.

You are still very much missed Kerry and in our hearts. Gone but no way forgotten.

Kerry

Where you are may you see the love
spread from this place to you
may you walk through fields of flowers
and along a sandy beach
feel the warmth of a summer breeze
and angels kiss your feet,
for you were taken so young
and left broken hearts behind
you loved life so much
and are missed beyond compere
You were taken so sudden
and there was shed many a tear
