Hertsmere Council has banned smoking in the Outdoor Lounge of the Celebrity Big Brother House
Housemates in the current series of Celebrity Big Brother will no longer be able to smoke in the outdoor lounge area of the Garden due to the area being too sheltered.
According to the Daily Mail, the council have studied the current floorplan of the Big Brother House and have come to the decision that the area is too enclosed.
As a result of the decision, Big Brother has told the current Housemates that they may only now smoke in the uncovered parts of the Garden in the House.
Hertsmere Borough Council’s Corporate Communications Officer Anna Cotton commented: “Following discussions with the Big Brother team we have established that the smoking area breached regulations so the production team has told housemates not to smoke in this area.
Smoking in the Big Brother House has required a smoking area since the 2007, which saw the eighth series of Big Brother, as the House is classed legally as a workplace.
