I can, I've learnt loads over the last few years. And I love to be able to do sushi, but I find it a bit intimidating.

Yeah, I love cooking but my dishes only taste good when I prepare it the second time, the first one usually ends up being a complete disaster.

Don't see the point in proper cooking, why put more time into making food than it takes to eat it?

Bollo
28-01-2012, 11:20 PM
Yes unless I'm going out to eat, I make dinner almost every night from scratch. I'm best at Curries & Italian

I also love buying food, I love comparing brown breads, looking at organic tomatos and realizing they're the most beautiful thing in the world, I love telling my mum to buy only light salt because the regular one has too much sodium and I read in a magazine last month that sodium is very dangerous indeed etc etc omg and I love feeling all smug when fat people look at my trolley and there's only organic and light stuff (apart from beer).

Chicken nuggets, pizzas and frozen pies. That's about as far as it goes. Whenever I'm home alone that's all I live off.

But if I didn't eat I wouldn't survive lol I don't mind nice food and do have favourites obvously, but I'm not one who goes out my way to find nice food and all that, if you get what I mean. Food is just food, it's not a big deal.

My menu is limited but nontheless divine. Cooking more is one of those things I need to do though.

My specialist dish is tinned tuna with all the sunflower oil left in, brown sauce, melted cheese, salt, pepper, heaps of butter and a light topping of ham all crushed together and grilled in a greasy, manly sandwich.

Josy, you've forced me to go make a big pot of lentil/vegetable soup with shedloads of bacon in it...... that's lunch sorted for the next day or two!

I can make a fair few italian dishes. My Mum lived out there for 6 years and she taught me how to make Spaghetti Bolognese, Lasagne, Spaghetti Carbonara and Penne Arabiata all from scratch. She showed me how to make this weirdly nice aubergine thing too.

I can bake peanut butter cookies from scratch too and I know how to make this amazing Mars bar cake.

If you like it, that's what matters. I've devoured two massive bowls of the pot I made earlier: (and piles of buttered bread wholemeal bread) - even if I say it myself: it was lipsmackingly good.
